No,Finebaum was a Linebacker for either Tennessee or ND. In his
playing days, which was in the 1960's,.He, at the time, was 6' tall
and weighed 125lbs but he was a wrecking ball. I remember him well
but not the team.

I can't imagine why any Clemson fan would care what Finebaum has to say. Pawl was sure Clemson would be blown out of the Stadium in 2018 by the greatest college football team in history; the Alabama Crimson Tide. If my memory serves me well, Alabama was blown out of the Stadium. And Pawl was "gobsmacked!" Little men with big egos are dangerous. Don't pay any attention to him at all! Go Tigers!

My point? Just that you don’t need to have played ball in order to know something about the game. That being said, I agree that it doesn’t matter what Pawel says.
Finebaum’s job is to facilitate a conversation or narrative. That’s it and you need not have played to do such. No different than a political pundit on Fox or MSNBC spinning for their team even though the pundit has never actually held office.
Like I said, I agree with you that it doesn’t matter what Finebaum says. Even if he played in college it wouldn’t matter. Like 95% of pundits FT’d, podcasters, talking heads , etc - his job is to throw #### at the wall and hope something sticks.
