Are there any roads to avoid the storm? Does anyone have any insight on making this trip this weekend? Thanks!

Where are you driving from? The interstate is all clear. I drove through Tallahassee Friday and again Sunday. There's not much damage in the Tallahassee are itself. The eye of the storm came across Florida about 50 miles east of Tallahassee. you may want to avoid I-75 and surrounding roads around Valdosta Ga. Valdosta had a lot of damage from the winds and tornados. Good Luck.

As bad as I hate to say it, you’re probably best Togo through Atlanta. The storm headed east of them resulting in little damage other than rain. Should be clear that way. It probably would be best to get off I-75 well before Valdosta as well. Either way be safe heading down here to Florida. I live about 100 miles west of Tallahassee and we only a a light rain with no winds from the storm.

The app Waze does a good job alerting you to road closures related to the storm.

I did the opposite drive last Friday heading to Clemson and the main roads were fine even then. The road through Athens was clear too so you don't necessarily have to go through Atlanta if the traffic is bad. Much worse in the Clemson/Greenville area then down south.

We went through Tallahassee to Orlando and back last weekend, and the roads were fine. Gas stations were without power at Exit 225 and 234 or thereabouts, but that should all be fixed by now. I don't know about north of there, but this is Florida, and we know a thing or two about hurricane recovery, so everything is as back to normal as can possibly be except for communities like Steinhatchee, Crystal River, etc.
