Just so you understand about the CoVid19 testing... and this

may not be true in your neighborhood, but... My SIL is a 30-yr. ICU RN at the largest hospital in the CSRA... Their current wait time on test results thru Quest Diagnostics is 10 days... Yep, 10 DAYS! Quest says they're overwhelmed. To entertain the idea that the spread is flattening at this time is futile folly.

no, the testing center. But then again everything has been dead here for the last two weeks. All the snow birds left and life is back to normal in my quiet little town.

and can’t do this basic testing. I’ve never believed we have the best health care in the world, despite all the money we spend. Like everywhere else, health outcomes are usually relative to one’s ability to pay.
A lot of people agree that this is the case, including this guy:

I realize I'm just one data point but here goes. Co-worker tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. There were four of us working directly with her last week before she went home with symptoms of the flu. We were told to go home an quarantine for the next 14 days. I called my doctor and asked if I could get tested. He said yes. I went to the parking lot at his office Wednesday morning. He came out in full PPE with the test kit. Swabbed the back of my skull (I kid you not; at least 5 to 6 inches into the nasal/sinus passage) and put the swab in the vial. Said he would text me the results tomorrow morning. Got the results this morning, negative for COVID-19,and cleared back to work. From the time I found out I was exposed to back at work just over 48 hours. I live in Austin, TX by the way.

That doesn’t mean Doctors aren’t treating the patients symptoms, which is the important part. COVID19 symptoms are exactly the same as swine flu in 2010. The difference? ....This flu is being televised.

Um. You know that each state has been extending testing out of multiple companies other than Quest. If they haven’t they are negligent. MI has like 6 at this time.

they contracted with or tried to... If Quest is that overloaded, they should tell them to seek another lab or something...

The way my SIL relates it, if they have a patient who shows

possible symptoms, they get tested. However, until they get the test back, the docs/nurses have to obviously treat that patient as a positive for precaution sake. The daily waste of PPEs and the time required in changing out adds up and the more time spent waiting for results is just another isolation and bed.
