Took the fam to the airport for an 8:45pm flight, left a little after 6. Weather app said there was a slim chance of rain, like 40%, which, roughly translated, means Category 2 hurricane. As SOON as we started driving, just an absolute DELUGE, hardest rain I've seen in the last year, and it lasted all the way to the Charleston airport, and most of the way home.
Anyway, fam dropped off, I'm free for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. Hookers, blow, TV at a reasonable volume, pantsless, shit-with-the-door-open, do-what-I-want mental health break. Long overdue and deserved.
Then...the text messages start happening. Flight is delayed for an hour. Crap, now it's 2 hours. OK, plane should be coming in soon, but absolutely no way of making the connection in Nashville, which means spending the night in the Nashville airport for a flight at noon tomorrow. Several update phone calls, more text messages. Hey, can you come get us? We're not flying until tomorrow afternoon now.

Scared the dogs with some choice words at exceptionally high volume, which I'm sure Shep appreciated since he was already terrified out of his skull from the thunder.
So, here we are. Now I get to drive them back to the airport at 3:30 this afternoon...right around the time the chance of rain is "40%" for about 4 straight hours. I'm starting to wonder if Jesus actually wants me to be happy at this point.
