Just got an email from Microsoft with a single-use code

So logged into Microsoft account. Go over to security. View recent activity. I'm getting about 10 login attempts per day from Serbia, Croatia, etc. and they ALL say password was incorrect.
It does not appear my account has been compromised, but PLEASE....have a super strong password, and 2FA as well. AND have a super secure email password (that's different), or only have the phone option, even better.
I had no clue how many times a day my account is attacked.

You'll really hate those port scans going off 24x7.

via Google Remote Desktop on a lot of it. I've thought about running a separate NAT and isolated system for it but I've been running strong for 7 years now without an issue. *knocks on wood*

Until 2 years ago when QNAP pushed out a bad security patch which caused it to open a port for the multimedia server using a default admin password.
Didn't find out about it until my whole NAS had been grabbed and encrypted. Got the whole "pay ### in cryto to get your files back" message. Unplugged from the network, wiped the drives, patched the heck out if, and now NOTHING that touches my LAN is available from the outside world without first getting into my netowrk via NAT, and even then behind a VPN.
I'm no expert in this, so I may have misused some terms (I'm more of a software guy), but I have a cybersecurity buddy who helped me set it up and maintain it for a six pack every now and then.
BTW, if you have ANY QNAP device (or actually any NAS), turn off admin account, delete ANY cloud service that has a single login to their service. The devices work well, but they have ahad a few securioty snafus.

The other now double as my backup server for all the other devices/computers we have.
As for plex, it's gonna be a perfect setup for me once they support NFO file metadata rather than their (increasingly) worse agents.

Which is handled well by agent databases (mainstream TV and movies), but for my Clemson Sports and Rifftrax libraries it will be great when plex finally gets on board with the power of an NFO file.

We had to get rid of our NAS stuff here years ago.

They even made us replace our NetApps because they used to be NAS capable out of the box.
For corporate stuff, the NAS stuff was too slow anyway.

I haven't logged in since sometime during football season, (mid Nov).
It denied me log-in due to "too many log in attempts". On first try. In 4 months.
I don't know what that means, it just seemed to fit in with this thread.
