Serious question. Why can announcers see things in game in all three losses

Dec 31, 2022, 5:55 PM

That Streeter and Dabo can’t see? All three times the play by play or halftime commentators called for things such as running the dang ball, and it wasn’t until after the fact that Streeter said things like “in hind site I shoulda”. How are they so disconnected in the moment?

Because most of those commentators have had actual experience in D1 football

All we can hope for at this point (in lieu of Dabo canning anyone) is that the coaches and assistants learn from all of this, study the game films, and don't do the proverbial wash, rinse, repeat next season.

That's the worry.

It was their first season. Hopefully, they will get better and learn from this year.

Give it up. We all see our O line is not great, our D backs are not great and our overall speed is not fast enough. Easy for announcers to see things that have already happened. This was not a Playoff team.

The announcers and commentators call it real time - at the beginning of a drive, during a timeout, at halftime, etc. They are not making the statement the following day. It’s not a hind site observation. How can coaches not see it during the moment?
