Is Vegas a yes or no?

Had a buddy just come back and his experience was great. Sat by the pool, bet on a movie size screen of sports and had the best food he's ever had. Hotels and accomodations were top notch.
Others have said they were mauled by street vendors expecting pay and couldn't enjoy peacefully. Thought the overall experience was gross. Both stayed at the same place and had different experiences so not sure who to believe before booking.
Any of your experiences in Vegas would be appreciated

Doing work with the WSOP.
It can vary depending what parts of the strips you go to. If you walk on the side with Cesasar’s, bellagio, aria etc it’ll be a nice experience. The other side of the strip is def more “ratty” if that stuff bothers you.
Venetian, Wynn and palazzo also nice.
If you plan to do a lot of walking I can give more specific instructions.

Caesar's and Bellagio are the areas I've had input about, street life is a different story. I will send you a DM personally for the areas I should prefer. Thanks TIP 👍

You need to experience Vegas at least one time. After the trip, decide if you want to go back. Once was enough for me. I would rather eat a peaceful meal overlooking a beach, mountain, or other beautiful outdoor location.

100% concur, unfortunately I had to work in Vegas for about 6wks a year for 7yrs til 2017. Hated every time I has to pack for trip. And leaving the Vegas airport always had long lines. Enjoyed visiting Hoover ### a couple times. I found a couple local bars that I enjoyed, lot more then the fake smells of the big casinos. Rather go to Jackson Hole Wyoming

Vegas and New Orleans are 2 places that I have sworn off. Don’t have the money to lose in the casinos and would have no idea what a I was doing if I was in one.

I’d say yes. It’s not just the casinos and bright lights, though, if gambling isn’t your favorite thing. Each time we’ve gone we added something outside of the strip scenery to the itinerary. ATV’ing in the desert, helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, golfing, Hoover ###, concerts/shows. Now you have the Golden Knights and Raiders, with baseball and basketball probably joining with the next 5 years. Within a few hours drive you have plenty of national parks, and southwest Utah is beautiful.

You're spot on! Vegas is worth experiencing once, but

otherwise, it's the cheapest place to fly into, then rent a car and visit Hoover Damm, Yellowstone, Sedona Red Rocks, Antelope Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, etc. We went about six years ago, spent two nights in Vegas, then took the rental car and made a big loop through AZ and Utah, visiting all the places I mentioned above.

Actually, after Hoover ###, we drove to Sedona, AZ. Then took

a small 4-seat plane to the west rim. After three days in Sedona, we drove up to the south entrance, drove around the south rim to the east entrance. From there it was about an hour and half to South Antelope Canyon, which was maybe may favorite stop on the trip...got some amazing photos! Antelope Canyon isn't a national park, only because it is on the Navajo Indian Reservation. The Navajo's conduct the two hour guided tours for only $20.
Attached is one of my Antelope Canyon photos...

I think everyone should go at least once. Just the size of the casinos and motels are impressive. Of course the gambling and the shows are the main attraction there's still things to do. Personally I would rather be on a quite beach somewhere.

Since nobody's mentioning it, I feel dutybound to tell you to check out some shows/concerts. There is always something worthwhile to see in Vegas. Each time I've gone, I've been able to see some incredible musicians/entertainers/comedians or broadway shows. So take that as a yes. Bellagio is the way, IMO.

If you want upscale, with luxurious accommodations, gourmet meals, and excellent shows, you can do that.
If you just want gambling, sports, and a decent place to sleep, you can do that.
If you spend much time walking the strip, you will certainly have people trying to hand you cards and fliers for shows and events. You’ll see street performers. You will be forced to wind in and out of casinos as you walk.
Keep in mind that the casinos will smell like smoke, despite the ventilation systems in place being better than they were. Also, the casinos don’t have many (if any) windows. They want you to forget about what might be going on outside, or what time of day it is.
I agree that everyone should go to Vegas at least once. It’s a fun city, and unlike anything else. Just remember to set a gambling budget and be comfortable losing whatever that number is. You might win, but the house always comes out ahead overall.

Went 25 years ago, and loved it. The last three trips have been for work conferences, and I hated it every time. It's gotten way too crowded, way too expensive, and it's full of drunk punks and slutty women. Not my cup of tea at all. Unless you're a hard-core gambler, avoid at all costs

We went a few years ago when kids were young. It was really neat and fun. The only drawback was the escort cards that littered the streets and having to explain to my kids those are not trading cards and to leave them alone. Also stopped by Treasure Island's outdoor show at the time and it was almost soft core pornography. Overall though, it was amazing experience and hope to go back again one day.

I don't believe in heaven and hell, but if there is a heaven and I am given admission, I hope it is an exact replica of the MGM Grand.

and honestly, I'm not a fan. Reminds me of Myrtle Beach without the ocean. Too many tatted-up classless wife beater wearing rednecks perpetually gacked-up on a week-long bender.

I think Vegas can be bussin, but you need to plan.

If you plan, stick to the plan. Vegas is all about distraction, but there are some real gems if you do your research. I don't gamble other than the occasional slot machine, but if playing cards is your thing, or Keeno, Bingo, games, paired with modest drinking, you'll be in heaven.
To me the real real if Vegas is the food. You don't have to be on a waiting list at some shithot steakhouse to get a great piece of meat in a nice atmosphere either. Past that, there are tons of small, hidden hit spots the locals can't live without. That's the magic. Find a van orUber driver that will take you for a day where they say the best spots are.
Got to do Freemont just to see the freaks. It's fun too. That's where the degenerate drinking happens so buckle up.
Btw, here is a hidden gem when idiots there espouse about steak houses. You won't believe what you get for the money at this place. Enjoy, but report back. Absolutely Devine.

Vegas is awesome.
There is something for everyone.
Whatever your vice, Vegas has you covered.
If someone can’t have fun there, its their fault.
