How can you make the basketball first schools as passionate

as we are about football? How can we be more like the SEC with great passionate fans and rivalries in college football where tons of fans travel to pump up the excitement and magnitude of the game?
I am all ears?

I think we should stop that comment at "beat the weak ACC teams". We have had too many years in which we lose to teams considered weak and it has cost us in a lot of ways. For that reason, we need to show that we won't let that happen before looking to make changes that add tougher opponents. Having a strong strength of schedule means nothing if you have 3 or 4 losses.

playoff if it is designed around the Top 6 model with preference to conference champions over non-champions, which seems to be the most likely method to come.
Va. Tech would have made it last year if they'd won the ACCCG instead of us. We'd have made it if we hadn't folded at the end against NC State and USuC.

Who's to say we will be left out? what were we ranked going into g-tech last year?
IF we had won out we would have played for it all.
If we lose 2 in the big 12 we are left out

Pitt and Syracuse certainly are basketball first schools. They weren't back in the day but they are now.

The conference is already heading downhill

Looking at it, our new tv deal is not very competitive, the 2 new teams are not competitive, in one move Swoffie made it harder for us to win in football by weakening our SOS and harder to win in basketball by bringing in 2 more great teams. I say let's get off this sinking ship

An easier path...

It to ditch Swofford and hire a director that cares as much about football as basketball. As I posted in the other thread, this MSN Article that has parallels to the current state of the ACC under Swofford. Mr. Swofford would do well to read this part of the article...
"But Tranghese comes from a different time when college basketball could stand on its own in the national landscape. It simply does not anymore. Whatever the Big East gets from its television deal will be driven by the football side, while the total value of the deal will be enhanced by having the likes of Villanova and Georgetown in its basketball inventory. In the end, though, basketball is really just cheap filler programming to tack onto a football deal.
That’s why good basketball leagues that don’t offer football like the Atlantic 10 and West Coast Conference have miniscule television contracts. ESPN and other networks simply don’t value basketball enough to make it worthwhile for the Catholic schools to go it alone — even if Providence playing Houston doesn’t make a lot of sense on the surface."
Their words, not mine, but I don't disagree.

Swofford has damaged the ACC beyond repair, in my estimation.

Hey Clemson hasn't been good in football in a long time. Since we are playing better, we just need to beat our competition and then we can talk. If we take care of business, we will be ok.
