JoePa should lose ALL wins from time he knew from his record

Paterno's name should be stricken from the NCAA all-time wins record as part of whatever other penalties are forthcoming! He obviously would not have had the success or tenure in all likelihood had he reported this sex scandal to Law Enforcement and the NCAA when he first found out about it.
...And if this doesn't result in the 'Death Penalty' for the football program at Penn State, then the NCAA ought to just do away with the 'Death Penalty' altogether.

That's hypothetical. I don't like punishing someone or something based on hypotheticals. PSU is recruiting a top 15 class right now even after all this. So to say he wouldn't have had the recruits after comin forward is speculation at best.

Depends a lot on the length & severity of the penalties that are handed down. Remember, recruits are not 'signed' to play for Penn St. yet and there could be a Mass Exodus when they are fully revealed.

That really only strengthens his argument though. If this is revealed in 98 and nipped in the bud, Joe Pa is a hero for protecting the kids from a rapist and it goes away quietly in a year or two. Could have even boosted their recruiting for all we know.

If the kids are only going to leave because of NCAA penalties (which wouldn't have existed if this had come out and been handled properly) then they certainly wouldn't have left if there was no cover up scandal and no punishment from the NCAA.

It wouldn't have nipped it in the bud...it had been ongoing for some time before that, and no matter what the penalties it would have tarnished the University and it's football program FOREVER just like it's doing now.
I would bet Mom's & Dad's would take that into consideration before advising their son's.
Let's see what happens with this year's Recruiting class! Do you want to bet on it having no effect? If so, I'll gladly take some of that action if you really want to throw some money away!!!
