After reading yesterday's post about our friend Joe, I couldn't help but think it would be nice to do something for him and his family. It seems that some of you know the family and how to reach them. While I am not "tech savvy" enough to set up and figure out something, I would be more than willing to participate in perhaps raising some $$ for either a gift of some kind or maybe a charitable donation on behalf of Joe and his family. I think it would be great to do this now, when Joe could appreciate it. Any thoughts ? And btw - I am AWARE this is on the football board - too bad if you have a problem with it lol.

If anyone with ties to Clemson AD. I would love to see Joe honored at midfield during one of the TV timeouts. His story is amazing and he very well may be the most senior Clemson Fan living.

That's a wonderful idea. Count me in too. The posters that know his family can advise the best. Perhaps a donation to Clemson football in honor of Joe? Something that would be permanent recognition. A phone call from Dabo on his birthday would be nice. Just spitballin ideas.

Any update on how Joe is doing? I’ve been praying for him and his family. And I love the idea of a phone call from Dabo on his birthday to honor this wonderful man. And doing something for Joe now would be so special. Would love to be part of doing something to make him smile.

I was thinking about this as well. I’d like some way to express my appreciation.
I think Joe kinda knows, but he probably doesn’t fully appreciate the mass positive impact he’s had on so many in our forum. I’d really like it if he can see and truly know that.

Wasn't he a professor at Clemson from the early 50's till about the early nineties? Maybe an honorary Clemson degree would be fitting. He is an alum of U. Florida, but his heart is all Clemson...

a simple gesture like a honorary lifetime membership on TigerNet could be created, as well as a recognition through the university, both of which I would support.

Knowing Joe, I am sure that he would want us to do something for someone else .... like the charity idea. We should find out his favorite charity or some cause that we could give to in his honor. I'm in!
