He does get revenue sharing…

It’s called a scholarship. Stop with this BS.
His scholarship is worth $200k+ not including the other perks he gets that no one else on campus receives.
I am just over this crap. The NFL needs to open up and let these guys go straight pro.
In the meantime, I’ll just keep PAYING $25k+ for my daughters to attend Clemson and Auburn.

do people buy jerseys of your daughter? Is your daughter doing interviews with ESPN and have her face on the cover of magazines?
If it wasn't for these football players during covid EVERY SINGLE athletic department would have gone belly up.
These guys are worth far more to the university than the investment the school makes on them. It costs the school nothing to let them go to class for free.

Like any other paid athlete. They can't have both. We already have a pro game, they can go do that if they want $$.

No one is buying a jersey of 80/85 players on every football roster, much less other sports

Who gives them the opportunity for the exposure? As far as making money OSU is making money regardless of who they have on the field. People just love college football and if you happen to have great players then that is a bonus.

My condolences on the "Auburn." Some times bad things happen. I hope your daughter will overcome that decision. Check that your sarcasm meter is turned-on, please.

Stroud and Warren are both on some good drugs because college is college and pros are pros. If kids don't want an education and a college experience, they can go work at McDonalds.

College is college and pros are pros

but the only people not making pro-level money in college football are the players, until recently anyway. Dabo makes more money than 90% of NFL head coaches and he's only the 8th-highest paid college coach.
I blame the powers that be for allowing college football to corrupt itself in pursuit of the almighty dollar. I don't blame the athletes for wanting a bigger piece of the pie when they see how much everyone around them is raking in.

He was asked a direct question from a reporter. He answered it. I dont blame him for thinking football players will be paid and I believe they will be paid soon. Now how much they are paid remains to be seen. Ohio St AD said recently that Nick Saban told reporters that each football player costs Alabama about $400,000 per year when you add up all the perks and benefits they get.

All the while college fans are being squeezed with $150 tickets, donation levels, seat equity taxes and having to buy a live tv package to watch the games. Most families cant afford to attend games so we are losing the younger generation. I can see what is one of America's favorite sports going the way of Nascar

Jersey sales are one thing, but TV revenue is a bit obsurd

TV revenue comes from fans watching. I like I current tigers, and I want them to do well and every one of them get drafted into the NFL. But, the fact is, in 5 years, when this group is gone, I'll still be watching Clemson football. Clemson's "market value" currently has more to do with the players that are no longer on the team than the ones that are currently on the team. So, if we are paying royalties off of the Clemson brand, most of that money really belongs to the institution that owns and fostered the brand for 100+ years. If money goes to the players, that money belongs more to the ones that are no longer on the team.
Again, I don't care if Ship and DJ get 50% or more of the revenue for every #5 and #1 jersey sold.
I know people will say in the NFL that player payroll comes from TV contracts, and the same concepts apply. But the difference is college is not the NFL. If players want to go straight to being pros - then fine, go pro out of HS and lobby the courts to change the NFL's rules about taking kids from HS. I'm fine knowing that will "diminish" college football, and I am fine with that - I still cheer for whoever is in the orange jerseys - and they haven't always been good.

Simple question. Where is that revenue coming from that pays your tuition, books, meals (at a 5 star restaurant equivalent, coaching, physical therapy, weight training, apartment, etc. is coming from.
Let's just give each player 100K (taxable income) and make them pay for all of that. Heck, we'll even throw out having to pay for the on field coaching. Just pay full price (out of state tuition for many) for tuition, books, room, meals, weight training, physical therapy. etc. Make them "join the training facility" and charge them what it costs to operate it, including equipment, building rental, utilities, and salaries for all the staff. Make them pay full price for the tutoring they receive. Make them fly commercial and stay in a Best Western. If they want to upgrade to first class or stay in a Marriott suite, make them pay.
Let's figure out how much it is costing for all the current benefits they receive now. Then let's talk about revenue sharing.
Yep: I'm a grumpy old man. When it comes to Power Five athletes whining about revenue sharing, I shout "Get off my lawn!"
