and i havent missed one since, I was standing at the fence and butler caught it right in front of me. This footage is blury and very grainy but i am the guy in jeans and white hoodie. I wish there was a polished film out there or something digitized by the university, but all i ever see are these grainy ones.

Same thrill watching that as that night when I was on the 45 yard line in the middle of coots watching it unfold. First time I remember seeing all the coot players standing on their bench flashing, “no cigars today” t-shirts. Saw one coach push them off almost as if he knew what was about to happen.

I'll never forget seeing those Gamecock players raising their jerseys and flashing those "no cigar today" shirts and that feeling of defeat and then the smug satisfaction I had that came with the win.

A fantastic memory! Televised Clemson games were rare in those days. My Dad and I went to a friend’s house on Sullivan’s island to watch that game and we had almost lost hope until that wonderful sequence of plays gave the Tigers the win!
Time passes, the players and numbers change, but in the background of the video you hear “Tiger Rag” and it all comes back!
Thanks for sharing
Go Tigers!

I was there in the Clemson endzone. And if my memory is correct, Clemson was up 24-0 before the Coots scored and came back to take the lead. We basically had to fight our way out of that dump after the game.

I was there, shook Dan Reeves' big ole ham of a hand at halftime after he was recognized for something on the field, smoked a cigar in the stands after the game, went home and the next day took my wife to the hospital where my son was born. I'll never forget that weekend.
Oh yeah, had barbecue at Ray Lever's and got stopped for speeding near Winnsboro by Mr. Jim Lark.

Great memory. I was sitting in the Clemson section in the upper deck. When South Carolina scored the go ahead touchdown the upper deck was literally moving. South Carolina had a bumper sticker that said “if it ain’t swaying we ain’t playing”. I know it scared me to death. Leaving the stadium and knowing we were headed to the Gator Bowl was like we were on top of the world.
