Jeff Scott isn't the answer. He rode talent and didn't

have a fundamentally sound offense or any special ability for playcalling. We routinely got in third and long while he was here and ran dumb plays over and over. We just had a QB who could bail us out over and over and over again.

He was a good recruiting coordinator

Good WR coach i think too. Our guys played better without the ball in their hands when he was coaching. It’s pretty bad now, it seems like we lack the athleticism to block well on the edges.
He has no business being our coordinator. Did Dabo not see how quickly an NFL OC turned things around at LSU? This offense was frustrating for entire games even when we had Deshaun and Trevor. It’s gradually gotten worse and more watered down since Chad left. At least he used motion.

With that said- LSU had Burrow and 2 receivers that are killing it in the NFL.
But no to Scott as OC. It is more of the same.

Because of scheme. They implemented it in ONE OFFSEASON! Did you see us chuck the ball up outside the hashes the whole game ?
A high school coaching staff would have done better.
The coots have a better offense than us. Let that sink in. Will Muschamp finally got it going down there. I knew if they just waited till next year everything would change.

There are a TON of more attractive offenses to play in than ours. It’s killing our recruiting.
We aren’t going to just rebuild the talent without better coaching. We need a real OC and QB coach.

"This offense was frustrating for entire games even when we had Deshaun and Trevor."
I think the best measures of the offense were the season's end rankings and overall accomplishments.
You're really stretching trying to say our offense was ever "frustrating for entire games". These were the best overall offenses in Clemson history, and the unrivaled (except for Bama) accomplishments speak for themselves.
"It's gradually gotten worse"
2020 was the MOST PRODUCTIVE PASSING season in Clemson history. So there's that.
Then the DJ era came in. We took a nosedive, but we actually did do much better this year. So that's an incline, not, "gradually getting worse".
What's Chad doing nowadays?

2020 was also an all-ACC schedule except for The Citadel. We got our butts handed to us in the CFP that year when we finally played a team with a pulse outside of the conference. And before you say we were 1-1 with ND, they also got fed their lunch in the CFP.

I'm saying you're cherry picking stats. 2020 was a weird year for every team and many conferences didn't allow their teams to schedule OOC. So of course the passing stats are going to look better that year than any other - the schedule was weaker.
I'm starting to think you're a troll with how idiotic your posts are.

We don’t have BV to bail us out anymore.
Take a look at our game control metrics from those years. It’s gotten worse and worse.

Scott was made to be a coordnator. Dabo was made to be a coach. Dumb argument.

What a terrible take. Lane kiffin was a terrible head coach and worked out for him great beating us for a national title in 2015.

I think the world of Jeff Scott, but I agree that he isn’t the answer right now.

What we desperately need is a top tier offensive coordinator who lives and breathes schemes, plays, innovation, and game planning. That isn’t Jeff’s strong suit.
We could surely benefit from his recruiting prowess. I’m sure he could help the WRs. But adding him to this staff isn’t going to transform our offense unless we are bringing back Deshaun Watson.

Brandon Streeter will be calling plays next year.
We have a good core of receivers coming back with some elite talent coming in. Ship and Mafah back. Cade, with more wt and muscle, and a year older. Briningstool, Ennis.
Street will be shutting folks like you up. And too, I think Street will be here longer than your husband. So there's that. Then what are you gonna say?
