Seems to be the excuse all the commies reference to justify any killing, looting, smash and grab, burning, destroying, and any other random lawlessness that the democrats fail to object to. How long will this be the excuse - till the year 5000?
Do any of the Libs of TNet have any idea how many people were at the 1/6 rally? And how many hung around for the walk to the Capital? It was wall to wall people for several blocks extending from the southernmost point of the white house ellipse. Constitution Ave was shoulder-to-shoulder in both directions for blocks - as far as you could see. It was also shoulder-to-shoulder all the way to the Washington Monument and beyond.
Must have been over 100,000 people - try to find the estimate. You won't be able to find it.
Out of 100k people, a couple thousand made it into the Capital (estimates say ~2000). In round numbers this is 2%. So in the wildest most extreme act of anti-democracy, 2% of the rally goers participated. And, the percent of those that did anything even close to what we are seeing on TV now is far less.
Of course, this does not match with your echo chamber citing Jan 6th as a deliberate attack on democracy LOL, so you will never entertain or understand the facts.
Can you bozos even imagine if all 100,000 people had stormed the Captial with the actual intent to interfere with the election proceedings? Yeah, the 100k people would have 'won' and had their way with anyone and everyone at the Capitol. But you people are too stupid to think out of the box and go against the MSNBC tagline.
Alas, it does not matter as the same qualities (or lack thereof) that lost you the 2024 election to the worst candidate and POTUS that ever could be imagined (by your standards), are alive and well and will come home to roost in 2028.
Here's the map you can think about...

The morons have convinced themselves a bunch of yahoos went to the Capitol with zero weapons and attempted to overthrow the government. This is as an unshakable tenet of their worldview as the sun rising in the east and no amount of discussion will ever change their minds that our republic almost fell that day and it was the worst single event since Pearl Harbor.
Of course they will use this to excuse rampant violence by the left in practically every city across the nation and will cheer the moment one of their ideological brethren is actually able to murder any law enforcement official up to and including the POTUS. And on June 14th when their comrades riot nationwide they will cheer and proudly proclaim their superiority as the cities burn. They are garbage so you should expect no less.

That day of embarrassment to the country on the world stage reduced America's leadership and standing. Trump watched as it happened, and made the decision to do or say nothing for quite some time while it was happening. Then, once he became President he blanket pardoned the criminals involved. This is a big reason any of his 'law and order' talk is built on a foundation of quicksand.
Jan 6 was the day Reagan Republicans split from the party.

Many of us split before January 6th....

I left town back in 2016, when it was finally obvious that Trump was going to win the GOP primaries.
J-6 was a day of embarrassment. It was also a culmination of a two-month planned assault against the results of a lawful and fair election. Trump had signaled he would not accept a loss, and then spent 2 months trying to reverse it, by pretending it was stolen, and using all means at his disposal including some illegal. J6 was just the climax.

This is a masterclass in denial and excuse-making.
First, yes—January 6th was a deliberate attack on democracy. That’s not an “MSNBC tagline,” that’s the conclusion of courts, the DOJ, and over 1,300 criminal convictions, many of which include guilty pleas. You don’t get to wave it off because “only 2%” of the crowd turned violent. That’s like excusing a mob because only some of them broke the windows and beat cops with flagpoles.
Second, saying, “Imagine if all 100,000 had stormed the Capitol!” doesn’t help your point—it confirms that it wasn’t a peaceful rally. You’re not arguing that it wasn’t an insurrection, you’re just whining that it wasn’t more successful. You’re openly fantasizing about mob rule because your side lost an election.
Also, stop comparing January 6 to looting or property damage during protests. One is criminal vandalism, the other is a coordinated attempt to halt the peaceful transfer of power based on a lie. They are not morally equivalent.
As for the turnout numbers? Who cares. Democracy isn’t a numbers game of who can mob the largest crowd—it’s decided at the ballot box, and when that failed, your crowd tried to flip the table. That’s what history will remember, no matter how many Reddit conspiracy threads or Gateway Pundit posts you quote.
But thank you for reminding everyone what January 6 was actually about: angry people trying to overturn an election they lost because they couldn’t accept reality. That kind of cult thinking is exactly why so many people walked away from MAGA.

went to the Capital. Trump was gone as were 90,000+ of the rally-goers. The people that were in DC with me that went to the rally had already metro'd back to the hotel, and we watched the Capital fiasco unfold on TV.
How many FBI informants were at the Capitol and what were they doing? And why did the Jan 6th committee have to be pardoned?
How many times can you be wrong and not admit it? Trump was a Russian asset. HB's laptop was Russian disinformation. The riots are mostly peaceful. ...

5 officers with minor injuries, a reporter was intentionally shot in the leg, a man was trampled by police horses, thrown back to the ground by LAPD, and trampled again, over 200 people arrested, and the national guards sleeping on concrete floors with no per dium, no fuel, no food, no accomidaitons. it would be funny if were not so serious.

You were on the wrong side of the LA protests, the Jan 6 riots, the Little Rock school children trying to go to class.
Tends to be a trend with you.

because of Jan 6?
I've certainly seen people point out Trump's hypocrisy on the 2 issues, but that's not justifying.

We should really come up with a name for Jan 6 since yall like to talk about it do much. The easy choice would be insurrection day but let's be more creative:
Humpty dumpty day Donny and Mike's not excellent adventure National crybaby day January fools day Beltline Beecher day Purge IRL day A day that lives in idiocy The million (they wish) moron march
Just a start
