Never is a long time. But yes. The ESPN deal is inked and in place for another 15 years. No extra money is materializing there.

Long term signed contracts that look bad now years after they were signed.
Other leagues have long term signed contracts for more money with guaranteed escalation clauses.
and also going forward the money just isn't there from television.

That guy also seems to change his tune a lot. He did an entire show with Mark Rogers about it essentially being Clemson and FSU as the two big prizes up for grabs, and how they are highly coveted by the Big 10. The show was right around the expansion that occurred this summer.

I keep saying we need to stop bashing the conference, despite the perception. We need to hedge our bets, we are either going to be carrying the flag of what’s left of the ACC or joint another conference.
Bashing the conference, as the Disney espn agenda has been, seeks to devalue our league in favor of a more profitable alternative to the ACC.
Truth be told we were probably a close second to the sec as a conference this season, but fsu getting pushed out of cfp was a massive blow.
For context in 2016 the acc was head and shoulders better than the sec, but you wouldnt know it. It’s not the profitable narrative.

Exactly. I've believed all along it's a big nothing burger and I'm not sure what Neff or anyone else thinks they can do... other than throw nuggets around to keep the big boosters happy thinking something is about to happen.
ND IS marketable. They've proven that with their own big tv contract. Clemson is NOT. It's not like some big tv network is clamoring for us to go independent. I'd love to think we were, but where's the incentive. We messed up signing everything away for then 20 years.
