they could make something out of nothing.....as in scramble, roll out or just get a few yards when everything falls apart.
I do not get that feeling with DJ, hopefully he has worked hard and losing some weight will help.

DJ made something out of nothing several times. I want to say it was Wake, but he was under a lot of pressure scrambled to the right and threw a 40 yard bomb to Collins. Should have been sacked for a loss, but turned it into a big gain. I do think the combination of his knee healing and losing weight will help his scrambling ability.

Confirmed. He had a nice pass and Collins made a great play on a 50-50 ball.
BTW, I think his weight and knee (and him doing too much & looking for the homerun throw) had a lot to do with him not taking off and running.
I imagine he should be a little quicker with the 35lb weight loss and healthy knee.

Plus, when DJ do run, he looks as if it's a strain on him to run, and he looks clumsy when he runs!!!

Maybe because he had a brace on.
This season the guy will not be Vick but will gain needed yards like Boyd did. He can run the ball.

Boyd knew how to run and liked contact. DJ is not a runner. He may develop some skill there but I don't think he will ever relish running. My hope is that he'll use his new slenderness and regained confidence to escape pressure and throw the football where our receivers can catch it. Wouldn't it be great to look back on 2022 as the year DJ lit it up and shocked the world.
