Each prospect gets an assigned number of points added to the score. We currently have the rare feat of having a kicker that was actually ranked but he goes as an 80 which is the lowest rating you can have outside of N/A.
So the per player rating for Clemson is higher but UGA’s bottom ranked recruit is above Gunn hence the .2 difference. If you do the class calculator on 247 it shows the point value of each recruit.

This is one of the more meaningless polls out there. Clemson has consistently ranked lower in recruiting polls than we have in the actual, final polls. Assuming the final polls are what we care about, we have two possible conclusions:
1. Our recruits are actually better than reflected in the polls and our coaches are just better at recognizing talent than the people who make these polls.
2. Our recruits arent as good as the kids who go to the schools ranked ahead of us but our coaches are better coaches and make them better than those other kids.
I think both may be true.

We identify great talent & many times the guys we offer scholarships to that are rated the lowest end up being some of our best guys.
It just looked weird when our average per player rating was higher but UGA was ahead of us.... & we both had 12 commits.
I thought maybe they gave Crystal ball points for offered players or something.
UGA can offer a 3 star and a day later he’s a 4 star....lol. We get the bonus points to sometimes now that we have established winning against the best teams.
I like to see how the teams we may face in the playoffs are doing & laugh at the coots too!
Our consistency is incredible since Dabo built the program into a powerhouse because he is developing men & challenging them to win at life plus get their degree.
If I would have had the talent to play for Dabo he wouldn’t have recruited me because the wrong brain ?? was making decisions for me...lol

The rankings are more fine-grained than just 5, 4, or 3 stars. I think UGA's 4th best recruit is a 0.9796 while Clemson's is 0.9685.
