Agreed. I've always found him incredibly annoying and never understood the appeal, other than the enthusiasm, maybe? Kind of like a louder, faster, more annoying Howard Cosell.

Beyond that, he's an opportunist now riding Valvano's coattails from thirty years ago, all for sympathy. Having met him, he's a rude, miserable jerk, unless there's a camera, not to be bothered by 'common folk'. First and second impressions matter...he flunked both without difficulty. Ted Turner, on the other hand...polar opposite...just for comparison's sake.
And he ruins a basketball game. My take...alone.

I cannot do it. I have to mute the volume if it is a game I really want to watch, or just change the channel. His antics are like finger nails down a chalkboard to me.
