this season. I have kept tabs on the W/Ls, obviously aware of the win streak, SOS, q1 wins, etc…
So, those who have invested (congrats!), what do you realistically see as the pro’s and con’s of this teams current make up?
What worries you, what are this teams potential weaknesses? Where do you feel most confident in this team?
Obv, Omaha and a title would be the hopeful goal, but outside of a CWS title, what would be an acceptable outcome for you at this point?
Let’s hear it y’all And
GOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!!

A hitting slump is the only thing that really worries me.
Pitching is going to give up some runs, just gotta out hit the other team.

I'd be ecstatic if we just win this regional. I feel more confident that we can beat albarn 2 out of 3 than I am taking 2 out of 3 from Tennessee.
Soy, we got a royal screw job imo having Tennessee as our 2. They have as good, if not better pitching staff than Wake. It's not only the starters, it's their deep bullpen. No doubt the best team we've played since Wake... if we win, our pitching will have to match theirs. Wake may have a slightly better era than Tennessee but Tennessee has played much much stiffer competition. Oh, and did I mention that Tennessee scores more runs per game than us. Yep, that's right.
I won't be shocked if Tennessee plays for the cws championship game. Scar got a much easier draw than us.
I know, I'll get Debbie downer posts etc. Get called a whiner whatever. I try to tell it like it is. Facts are indisputable. Campbell probably should have hosted but the reason they didn't is their weak schedule. Dbu is a 2 seed in a higher region than us and they have a warren nolan net equivalent to Charlotte.

How do you come up with 4 of last 18 games? Anyway, I've looked at their schedule many times. Looked at their box scores too as well as caught some of the games.
But in all due respect, perhaps you need to look at their schedule. We haven't played the tough schedule they have. A lot like our softball team going into the fsu series.
Most thought we were world beaters and deserved to be ranked 1 or 2 at that point... I was told I was negative Nancy about that series too because as I said, we were certainly a good team, we were unproven. That's how I look at our baseball team too. Good team, deserving of our bid etc but with the exception of wake series, our weekend series have been weak compared to Tennessee.

Clemson won't win, rather than why they can? Respectfully, I think the whole SEC-praising is overdone. They're gifted more regionals than anyone...whoop dee doo. If we're handing out accolades, give them to Sankey for creating a perception the media chooses to embrace. As the saying goes, 'Percepion is'...but it's not often reality.

Busy this morning I’ll make it simple. Pros: Leadership, belief, team chemistry, complementary baseball, offense. Cons: chasing outside sliders at the plate and pitching (mostly relief) somehow we have guys that have been successful by only throwing fastballs. Our relief pitchers don’t have offspeed stuff that strikes fear. Garris and Hughes mainly. They just throw straight fastballs. Kinda concerned this will catch up to them

My take...
Pro: - Different coaching philosophy all around. Bakich seems "Dabo-esque" - Emphasis on getting hits and not swinging for the fence every at bat - Forcing the opponent to act on defense - Our batters' approaches at the plate; noticing the defense and trying to hit the gaps - Team is competing as a team, not as a group of individuals - Starting pitching has generally improved - Seems like if we score first or immediately answer after opponent takes lead in our next at bat, we win. - Having Leggett in the dugout
Con: - Although improving, the bullpen is inconsistent - Typical of most teams, ninth-inning drama (VT and UNC series recently) allowing the opponent to have hope

Scoring first or immediately in response to other teams scoring seems to be a thing for us and it’s great

that this team has stopped taking so many pitches down the middle and also swings at few balls that they can't possibly reach. That has been a sore spot for me the last few seasons. If you swing at good pitches you have better results - do not get called strike 3!
