Gameday back to Clemson?

Sep 9, 2013, 8:28 AM

Would Gameday come back to Clemson for the FSU game? Right now the closest competition would be Stanford UCLA (#5 vs #16) meanwhile Clem and FSU will likely be undefeated. How often does Gameday broadcast from the same school twice in a year (outside of the SEC, of course)?

If both teams keep winning, it would be the biggest game

that weekend, for sure, with conference title hanging in the balance. I'm not sure of their policy on repeat locations though. I doubt they would come back.

I doubt it

Regardless of Stanford and UCLA's rankings that week, ESPN has a love fest this year for Brett Hundley and UCLA, and a love fest every year for Stanford. I don't see them passing that opportunity up to go out west, in what may be one of the only interesting/important PAC-12 game of the season. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

The Gameday producer said that there are no rules

when it comes to choosing their location. Clemson offers one of the best Gameday locations. Clemson vs FSU will (if everybody takes of their business like they should) be a top 10 battle with the winner claiming the ACC Atlantic, will be the odds-on favorite to win the ACC, and will be in the discussion for the BCS championship for the rest of the season. The other game that could be their pick though would be Southern Cal at Notre Dame. However, SoCal is in tailspin right now and Notre Dame hasn't impressed and will not win their game against Oklahoma. A winless USC vs a two loss Notre Dame does not trump an undefeated Clemson vs an undefeated FSU.

Bottom line: I would expect we should get it.
