Another tough basketball loss last night

I know there are concerns about the basketball product our football program is paying for, especially given the importance of money in the new football landscape we find ourselves in. But hopefully we get basketball turned around and make a run in the ACC. Nothing would make me happier than being ACC champs in both sports. I trust our basketball coaches and think we can make it happen.
It’s times like this I’m thankful I’m not an AD.

More often than not. .588 career coach at clemson. Not to mention the other mediocre stats he’s accrued. One elite 8 run doesn’t end 15 years of garbage.

Obviously clueless about hoops. BB is one of the most highly respected coaches in the country. The job he’s done at Clemson is tremendous. He’s built a great culture and it’s only going to get better

Men’s basketball generates approximately 1 million in profit, women’s basketball loses approximately 3.5 million. Basketball at Clemson does not pay its own freight and needs approximately 2.5 million from football to sustain itself each year. And this is ok, it happens at most schools.

The university income statement does not break out all revenues by sport. For example royalties, merch, and media payments are held on a consolidated line. The only items they break out discretely are revenues like tickets sales. The ESPN TV contract has significant revenue due to ACC basketball, Clemson doesn't break that out discretely for each sport.
If I were in charge of financial reporting for the AD I'd fix that, but then they aren't on my level.
PS did the women's team lose a game last night too? Or are you just adding them to the mix just to attempt to make your OP less inaccurate.

According to that article men’s basketball brings in 9.9 million and spends 10 million. This is not good.

It's profit. Oe are your saying is revenue. I think the bb team generates more than $1 mil in revenue. They play 25 TV games.

It is very commendable the sacrifice that Dabo and the football team are making to help our basketball team. Let's win the ACC both basketball and football to show Dabo and the team how much their generosity is appreciated. Also Francis Marion for pointing this out. Sometimes I think people look past Dabo's generosity. Go Tigers! 🐅

Three way tie for 3rd in the ACC. It’s early, but isn’t this the time to beat your chest(or pass judgement)? I personally will hold my excitement til the end of season, but we know you live and die in the moment. Congratulations!
