It was about this time in 1973 when I got home from ........

high school one day and my father was home and said he needed to talk with me - acted kinda like he was upset/pissed off with me because he said there was something important he needed to discuss with me right then!
I didn't know what the hell I had done! But it was about that time that he reached into a drawer and pulled out a letter. Holding it upside down so I couldn't see who it came from, he thrust it into my hand like "take it!"
I turned it over and then saw it was my acceptance letter and went nuts. He then broke out into a big grin and hugged me and shook my hand.
This was a big time for him and me. He didn't go to Clemson but was in IPTAY for decades. He loved Clemson so was glad my two brothers and I graduated from there.
He's been gone for years now but I think about that day every now and again.

Nice story. My parents were as excited as I was when my letter came that year. That was such an important day for my family.

If your kid doesn't get in Clemson, they can always go to Tri-County TEC. According to Barker's agenda, it's just as good.
He has to make sure there is room for all those fine students from India and New Jersey.

Clemson Admission's twitter account (@BeAClemsonTiger) says none of the letters will likely be mailed till Friday morning at the latest.
