In 1980 we lost to Georgia on a day when we went up and down the field on them and lost the game because of punt and interception returns. This year we lost because we couldn't figure out a way to not give up points on offense. You're welcome Georgia.

1980.Fast forward to 2021 and tell me how Georgia was responsible for us failing to score points in either Raleigh or in Pittsburg?

we lost four other games in 1980 as well. not saying we were going to be the national champion, but we could have ruined their season both times.

Clemson played UGA very well this year. Of course, we had no idea at the time that our offense was not as good as past offenses. After the game everyone thought that UGA's defense was #### on wheels. And it was pretty good. Clemson's defense this year was play off worthy. As far as the offense we have to go back to a Frank Howard quote: Sports reporter. Coach what do you think about the offense's execution? Howard: I'm all for it...

I swear,...it's like someone died around here. Your team didn't win a championship. A team you didn't want to win (apparently really, really didn't want to win) did. It's no more tragic than that. This has made you guys very, very sad.

It's true. How can we throw a bunch of jive your way now?? We've just gone back to being little ole Clemson for the time being. We were on the porch with the rest of the little pooches last night just watching and throwing around that big ole word IF. Congrats, by the way.

Your taking me down memory lane. One of the few away games I have been able to attend was the 1980 Georgia/Clemson game. The halftime stats were something like 250 yards for Clemson to less than 100 yards for Georgia. Terry Hoage was their defensive back who had a great interception return and a punt return. We lost I believe the score was 24 to 16. Dominated The stats but lost the game. I also remember how rude and crude the Georgia fans were toward me and my friends as we were walking to our car. But the following year, we beat them 13 to 3 on our way to the national title!! You have to give Georgia credit for their victory last night. Plus I could never pull against a guy like Stetson Bennett. Walkon wins Natty! He and Hunter Renfrow would have lots to talk about!
