It really is baffling that for 2 years we’ve had no downfield passing attack

Like if you hit any downfield (not sideways throws) throws then the run game flourishes even more. They just stack the box and run man2man on the receivers and they have to second thoughts about it bc why would they. They is every team we play. If we draw an Alabama or LSU or OSU in the bowl game, like, what’s the plan? Just throw lateral and run DJ every once in a while? Is that our identity now? And he has two more years of eligibility so I guess this is what we get to see for the next 2 years. We need some innovation on offense. Like a total rework. I see teams with far worse talent put together consistent offenses that work. It’s been hard to watch the past 2 seasons. Really Trevor’s last season was pretty stagnate too,,, he and ETN were just superstars that dug us out of holes in a lot of games. Gotta just go get an offensive mind that can get us consistent again.

Yeah, Dabo pulled KB who was a great leader, great runner/decision maker, and solid touch on the short game because he lacked one single weapon-downfield ball with velocity and accuracy. Teams did just that and stacked the box and there were just too many bodies and hands within 20 yards of LOS to get anything done. DJ has no long ball, is inconsistent with velocity and trajectory on short balls, has no rhythm, and cannot read coverages. It baffles me that the discerning eye and ability of Dabo to make decisions just misses this mess
