There really is no way around it, we underachieved last night...

We were a ranked team, Miami was not. We were the favorite, Miami was the underdog. We should have won, but instead, we lost by double digits in a game that wasn’t competitive in the second half. That’s all very disappointing. But, the most disappointing part hit a little closer to home. I was watching the game with my 8 year old nephew, who loves everything Clemson, and as the camera zoomed in he saw CBB use profanity on TV. I’ve seen CBB do this multiple times this season, but was really disappointed my nephew saw it. I guess it’s a societal thing, I think CBB is from the Midwest. All I know is I felt safe watching Clemson basketball with family, now I need to rethink that. Maybe a PG-13 rating would be appropriate?
With all that said, I still believe in this team and I still support CBB. I really think this team has a chance to sneak into the tournament with a little help. Don’t give up on them.

Brad thinks he knows it all and doesn’t want to change it up and retain some guys for that family culture. His stubbornness isn’t a good look.

coaches have. The zebras will screw his team with a bad call, and all you see out of him is a frown and an expression like he has gas pains and is clinching his buttocks to keep from crapping his pants.
He let the second half get completely out of hand last night, and never really had a clue how to stop it. Whatever tempo Miami wanted, they got. After Memphis, and now Miami, this team should learn something. They may THINK they are an offensive juggernaut, but they are wrong. REAL run and gun teams will take us down every time, if we don't dictate a slower tempo. Especially if we play zero defense like in the second half last night.
Flush this one, learn from it, and BEAT THE HOLES!

I think you are thinking of Daytona……………..Dayton was nice in 1948 and it was mostly downhill after that.

They always have good guard play and their big hurt us last night. They play fast. What would you rather me say? Miami is better and we can’t beat them? I don’t think that is true. Brad did not have a winning game plan last night and he got beat by a hall of famer

Out-coached, out-played, out-worked, out-hustled, out-shot, and out-talented.
I root for the team each and every game and want nothing but the best. I'm never happy when Clemson loses in ANYTHING. I want nothing more than for CBB to take us to the Final Four and win it all. I hope we avoid the sort of multi-game losing streak that plagues CBB teams in January and February. I hope that we avoid all that and all the good things happen this time.
He did break the 0-57 at UNC streak, and did make the Sweet 16 that one time. I hope the 14th time is the charm.
But I won't hold my breath, because I've seen this movie pretty much 12 out of 13 years.
Like last year when we start 7-0 in ACC play, beat Duke. Folks started drooling over an NCAA lock, wondering if we'd be a 1 seed, planning an ACC tournament title...
Then BAM drop 3 in a row, and 4 out of 5, lost to Louisville. No NCCA bid. Puked up all over Morehead State in Littlejohn, which is of course the worst possible reaction to being "snubbed".

I will say, last year the 3 early season losses were Quad 4 losses. This year's early season losses are Quad 1.

I agree. Not losing to Quad 4 teams IS an improvement.
On that bright note, with the start of ACC play, it is unlikely that we will even face the chance of a Quad 4 loss for the remainder of the season if we can beat Louisville. Based on current standings, Louisville in Littlejohn is the only chance for a Quad 4 loss.
The lowest NET ranked ACC teams are (currently)...
NCSU, Syracuse, BC are 71, 78, and 81 respectively. So pretty much either Quad 1 or Quad 2 games.
Ga Tech and FSU are at 123 and 131 respectively, we play them both home&home, so the home games would be Quad 3 but the away games would be Quad 2. Must win games at home.
Notre Dame is currently at 181, so the game at Notre Dame would be a Quad 3 game. Must win game.
Louisville is currently sitting at 266. Must win game.
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353
"The number of Quadrant 1 wins and Quadrant 3/4 losses will be incredibly important when it comes time for NCAA tournament selection and seeding."
Clemson is currently
Quad 1 3-2
Quad 2 2-0
Quad 3 1-0
Quad 4 5-0
Notably, perhaps, Miami and Memphis are 41 and 41, and Clemson is the only Quad 1 win for Miami (1-2) and one of Memphis' 2 Quad 1 wins (2-2)

and others doing it is not an excuse. I know he's under a lot of stress this season, but he's a representative of this university, and should conduct himself as such. I coach football, and I didn't use profanity one time last season, at practice or in a game, and we only allowed one offensive touchdown in the last two games of the season. You can win without using profanity in front of 8 year olds.

It was very loud (for one)...and it was after one foul call in the first half in a game where the refs were being reasonable. I'm not sure the refs were going to be swayed by that sort of thing anyway.
I don't recall hearing BB use such language in the hundreds of other games I have watched during his tenure. I'm sure he has before. And we all remember reading Coach K's lips as he would use the profanity thesaurus. But this seemed a little much for BB....it kind of startled me. Perhaps the audio engineer needed to do a better job...but perhaps he was also caught off guard by BB's rant.
And contrary to what was said elsewhere in this thread...dropping f bombs has nothing to do with "having fire or intensity". Not really sure that did anything for anybody. Sorry that you and your nephew (along with others I'm sure) had to deal with that while trying to enjoy a basketball game.

Word is out on the street: Run the court against Clemson, they get gassed. Watch what Memphis and Miami did, and that's all one needs to see.
CBB should have called a couple of timeouts (that he didn't) to disrupt Miami's tempo...but it never happened. All we heard were curse words.

Memphis is ranked higher than we are. Miami has been playing without Nigel Pack. If you watched last night I think you could figure out why Miami has lost 2 games without him. He’s a Bobby Buckets. They were in the final four and return all but 1 starter. We lost to a VERY good team IN Miami. Relax.

profanity and 2) putting the game announcers so close to the Clemson bench. (They couldn’t even see for goodness sake).
Seriously, I did think going to the zone was good and slowed UM down some. Just could not take advantage on the offensive end to keep up with stinking 70% shooting on their end.
