Just saw the score and reading the comments. I even read the ESPN article, but what happened with a fair catch signal or something? How did Bielema's signal have anything to do with his player being injured?

Shane is the type of guy that overly plays somebody holding him back. To that point he backs off but when they come in he acts like he wants to build charge. Haha. And what about the coot coolio bearded guy trying to pump up the crowd afterwards. Like "yeaaaaaah let's fight!!!". Thanks for the laugh coots!!!!

Beamer and Beielema confirmed the dispute was over a signal South Carolina's kick returners gave on a third-quarter kickoff when a player gave the typical signal they would let the ball go over their head and not return the ball. But the Gamecocks not only fielded the kick, but tried a lateral play that ended with a tackle at the 25.
Beamer said he cleared the use of that signal with the Big 12 officiating crew before the game and that it was legal, as long as the returners did not wave their arms like a fair catch. Bielema agreed that returning the kick was not against the rules, but went against the spirit of using that signal to limit injuries on kickoff returns.

Beamer likes to be thought of as an ethical/classy guy. He was highly sensitive because he was trying to exploit a rule that is specifically aimed at player safety. His actions (not Bielema) were the very definition of Bush League - and he got called out for it on National TV - and rightfully so. I applaud Bielema for how he handled the situation. I thought it was highly professional and also effective. If I were Bielema, I would not have said a word - pooch kicked the next kickoff - had them signal a fair catch - and absolutely annihilated their guy with every player on my kickoff team. Then I would have told everyone that player can thank his Coach - Shane Beamer. Make no mistake, Beamer lost his mind because he knows exactly how slimy his actions were and he got exposed. He also knows Bielema was absolutely in the right to do exactly what he did.

Trying to explore a player safety role for his benefit.
I also remember that one from my childhood: while wrestling with my brother I say “I can’t breathe” then when he lets up I jump back into wrestling. Beamer just hasn’t passed that level of maturity.

It was nothing major.......just a Quickie Oil Check which I am sure Shannon does quite often. Bielema was upset because Son of Beamer used the wrong Dipstick. That is all.
