Is the term "blueshirting"

Feb 7, 2014, 12:41 PM

just another SEC euphemism for "blatant cheating"???

And which is the more powerful position??:

NCAA President or SEC Commissioner??

(Sorry, the unc scandal not withstanding, I've grown increasingly weary of the efforts of most SEC athletic programs to circumvent the spirit and letter of every rule ever established to create fairness and equity in college sports)

conference to set or make rules--eliminate them and let the governing body for a non-conference CFB world set and rule with fairness for all.

That'd give the NCAA unchallenged power over everything

And if not the NCAA, some kind of similiar governing body.

Do you really want that?

It isn't cheating until the $EC says it's cheating, but....

but there is no question Tennessee is exercising a very liberal interpretation of the rules.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The NCAA has proven that it has no teeth or any power

whatsoever...or maybe they just lack a set of balls. E$ecPN is the college football "wizard" and make their own set of rules. They decide who plays and when they play...and we all know who they love!!! Is there really any reason to start an $ec network when we basically already have one?

Hopefully at some point in the future, E$ecPN will overstep and/or all the other conferences will get sick of the charade and something will change. I'll not hold my breath.

Blue-shirting: This scheme was originated by New Mexico State but has not been practiced widely around the nation. Here’s how it works: Officially, a player arrives in the summer as a walk-on. Once football practice begins, he’s awarded a scholarship. The school is allowed to count the scholarship forward — against the 2015 class — but the player can play immediately.
There’s a big catch: The student-athlete may not have been recruited, as defined by NCAA bylaws. That means no official visit to campus, no in-home visits from coaches, no signed National Letter of Intent or athletic aid.
Only a handful of players, if any, would meet that criteria.

I found this from a Tennessee website. I didn't know there was a such thing.
