Is the ACC seriously 2-6 in bowls up to this point???

Dec 30, 2014, 10:52 PM

Yeah yeah yeah "I only care about Clemson. Blah blah blah." Well, unfortunately the selection committee looks at the "entire body of work" and these teams are who we have to play. If we're to have a chance next year we have to go undefeated or only have a close loss to a, what would need to be, very good Notre Dame team.

had fsu lost to ND they would be outside looking in, so

I would say we need to run the table

4-0 against SEC...and they still have an SEC bias...

They were all underdogs. Let the committees put comparable teams in bowls which could be in ACC's favor before you start comparing apples to apples.

Very true. Many times these matchups are not the best. Which is why we should never put stock in a good conference bowl record vs a bad one unless we deem that the matchups pitted similiar teams. I thought we somewhat had that with OU, but I guess not.

Honestly a bowl game is just another OCC game. Clemson and the ACC always need to win OCC games. If the conference is good it is good for Clemson. Therefore you are forced to route for the conference.

Also how bad does that make the SEC east. :). And the Big 12 must stink as well.

NCST, VT, Clemson

Can still finish above .500 with GT, Pitt, and FSU winning

We routed Oklahoma
NCSU beat Central Fl
VT beat Cincinatti

And depending on how you view them -ND beat LSU

GT, Pitt and FSU to go.

Only suprise/dissapointment so far for me is BC finding a way to lose to Penn State.

(Miami not upsetting SC was disappointing but not a suprise)

CBS shows ND with the ACC.

If they're winning outside the conference, we will claim them.

CBS doesn't define the conferences. ND is not ACC in FB.

Dec 31, 2014, 12:40 PM [ in reply to Re: Is the ACC - looks like 4 - 5 ]

They are an Independent team with a bowl and scheduling agreement with the ACC. There's a difference.

It is amazing that they will play SIX ACC teams next year, though. Darned close to a full conference schedule.
