I've always considered them a rival.

To me they're more of a rival than NC State or BC is. For me it's School of Columbia, FSU, and GA Tech.

Its not a heated rivalry meaning that I want them to lose every game they play, like I would with South and North Carolina. Usually I actually go to a couple of GT games a year in football/basketball/baseball. I have no problem pulling for them when they aren't playing CLemson.
Its more like golf with a friend. You enjoy playing them and you really really really want to beat them. But in the end, both sides buy an equal amount of rounds in the clubhouse bar.

Yes. To me it's Dirt ###### U, then GT. FSU and the rest are just other teams we need to play. UGa is not a rival as we don't play them. Sure they were at one time, but more for US than them. We were just another team to them.

I agree with you in reference to UGA.

We haven't played them enough in the last 15 years to call it a rivalry which doesn't make sense. They should be on our schedule every year. They're are the closest D1A school to us.

our post Frank Howard era record vs them is not as great as some might think. For years they would only play us in Atlanta refusing to come to the valley. The conference did a great job making them our permanent opponent from the other division. All teams considered they could not have done a better job than they did with all the match ups.
DO YOU NOT CONSIDER THEM A RIVAL??

over the years.
For whatever reason, Clemson fans never really respect Ga Tech, even though we lose more than we win against them

I know the rivalry with UGA was huge back in the 80's, but we are fortunate to get 2 games a decade with them now. Perhaps the next two 2 years will rekindle that a lot bit, but that rivalry is really dying. I don't think many Clemson fans under 30 or 35 years old would even consider UGA a rival at all now.
