Intrestin'

Mar 23, 2022, 12:18 PM

Paul Manafort just got removed from a plane after he tried to run for Dubai.

Keep in mind Manafort was found guilty of money laundering for pro-Russian oligarchs in the Ukraine and sentenced to 73 months in prison...but he would never roll on Trump despite the fact that it came out after Trump left office that Manafort's own employee and right-hand man, Constantine Kilimnik, was in fact Russian intelligence and was the backchannel back to Russia that Mueller never could find. (Which Manafort knew full well, because it's been confirmed Manafort was passing Kilimnik polling data for Russian intelligence to use - basically a map of where their efforts would best be directed - which is that "evidence of Russian collusion" diehard MAGA's still try to claim doesn't exist. It does.)

But Manafort kept his yap shut, Trump pardoned him...and Manafort walked. But now as the US and Interpol are getting busy rolling up Russian oligarch money left and right...and here's Manafort trying to run for Dubai, without a passport...which means he could never, ever return to the USA, or he'd be right back in jail.

Like I said, intrestin'. And I'm distinctly curious why Manafort was trying to flee the US.

It does look quite foolish and desperate.

I'm curious why?

The man is 72, he's pardoned, nobody can touch him...or can they? This suggests there's a lot more, and the timing of it suggests Manafort's really worried about something.

Oh, and I checked. There is no extradition treaty with Dubai. Total coincidence, I'm sure.

top three possible reasons

Mar 23, 2022, 3:05 PM

In order of likelihood

1. He needs to access a big ole stash of money / assets he likely parked in offshore accounts from his dealings with various oligarchs.

2. He is currently being leveraged by some unsavory characters.

3. His addiction has led to a bit of impulsive behavior.

So how'd he get caught trying to fly out?

Almost like somebody might have been keeping an eye peeled his way....

Be it the Deep State or just some Interested Feds, it appears somebody doesn't want him leaving town.

Just for a brief recap of why he might be interested in being in Dubai all sudden-like:

one would think he would have gotten a new passport the second he was pardoned, but he didn't. I find that odd as well.

Re: Saying deep state is real = moran.***

Mar 23, 2022, 4:34 PM

I'm almost 100% he would not have been allowed to.

Being pardoned does not magically wipe the slate clean. It's actually an admission of guilt. It just means you won't do the time for the crime, and can't be tried again.

He was tried convicted of international money laundering and sentenced to 73 months in prison for it. As a convicted money launderer...he would not have been eligible for a passport...for obvious reasons.

I looked it up, if the source is accurate, it said legally, he was allowed to apply for a new one and leave the country. Why he did not makes this all the more fascinating, as if he might have already known it would trigger a red flag somewhere else. And Dubai also happens to be a major hub from the US to Moscow, just saying. This is all speculation, of course, we do not know what we do not know, but this definitely does not pass the smell test.

My suspicion is Manafort was probably indeed headed for Dubai. He's got a lot of friends there and it's a haven for wealthy expats on the run. He's worked for oil sheikhs on numerous occasions. (He worked for a lot of bad people on numerous occasions.)

One of Manafort's main allies was apparently mover-and-shaker-and-moneyman Tom Barrack, who is currently being charged with acting and conspiring to act as an unregistered agent of the UAE in the US at the direction of UAE officials. Barrack moved something like $1.5 billion in Saudi/UAE dollars through his private equity firm...and he was often linked financially with Manafort, even loaning him $1.5 million in 2007. Interestingly, Jared Kushner - who is Jewish - blocked Barrack from being appointed Special Envoy to the Middle East. So Kushner wouldn't deal with him...which is fascinating.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/28/us/politics/thomas-barrack-foreign-lobbying.html

I suspect it wasn't coincidence Manafort was headed for Dubai in the UAE.

Barrack, interestingly, also chaired Trump's 2017 Presidential Inauguration Fund...which came in looting to the walls. They raised an all-time record $107 million, spent very little of it - Trump's inauguration was apparently a very low-key affair - and poof, the bulk of that money subsequently vanished and was never found.

Is it possible he was simply flying to Dubai? Is he supposed

Mar 23, 2022, 1:02 PM

to stay in the US for some reason? (Is that why his passport was revoked?)

Re: Is it possible he was simply flying to Dubai? Is he supposed

Mar 23, 2022, 1:25 PM

That's what I'm asking. He tried to illegally fly out to Dubai, knowing he'd face jail time if he returned to the USA.

Why on Earth would a guy who's 72 and has been pardoned do that? Could it be he's afraid something else is coming for him, something he wasn't pardoned for...and has no intention of returning?

One thing especially caught my eye in that link I provided about non-extradition countries. In particular:

"places like Dubai are home to large international communities and offer luxurious and comfortable lifestyles"

Guys like Manafort always have squirrel stashes of rainy-day funds all over. They're crooks, they can't help it. For whatever reason Manafort seems to have decided the time to decamp from the USA - likely permanently, since you don't face jail time on a whim at age 72 - had come.

Again, why? Could just be total coincidence it's now, right as his old Russian-oligarch bosses are getting their accounts and holdings subjected to massive International scrutiny and seizure. But it's durn intrestin', for sure.

Re: Is it possible he was simply flying to Dubai? Is he supposed

Mar 23, 2022, 2:48 PM

more likely story: He was flying to Dubai like hundreds of thousands of other people. His passport is probably revoked because he didn't get a new one after being pardoned.

But good for you for inserting "ran", "illegally fly out", "face jail time" and all of your other speculation. You would make a good reporter in today's MSM.

Manafort is not a Criminal mastermind like Hunter Biden, you are barking up the wrong tree here. And last I checked, he has remained faithful to his biologically assigned sex, never kneeled during the national anthem, does not smoke crack, and likely disapproves of our current SCOTUS pick.

He sounds like a good American to me.

If only there were some people in a position of power who didn’t like Trump enough to prosecute him for these super obvious crimes that we all know he committed. One day we will elect a president, House, and Senate who aren’t in love with Trump and when that happens, look out.
