Intimated is the dumbest word to exist

Just use the word 'hinted'. Why do journalists use intimated instead? I can never remember how to pronounce it.

Its meaning is completely different than the adjective Intimate. It looks like Intimidated, but isn't.

I now have two life goals:
1. Ban the use of intimated
2. Push insurance companies to hold vehicles with unused tow-hitch more at fault in a small rear-collision. (rear vehicle typically suffers inordinate damage that bumpers weren't designed for, while front tow-hitch vehicle has little damage).

In past 3 years:
- My car totaled after a tow hitch punched through my front bumper. Yet, our bumpers never even touched. Insurance declared car totaled due to repair costs.
- Wife needed stitches after demolishing her shin in a dark parking lot walking into an extended hitch
- Father-in-law almost rear ended a vehicle that stopped on yellow light. He stopped short of hitting them fully, but the hitch caused a ton of damage

It takes 20 seconds to take off an unused tow hitch. Do it people.
