In fairness to Jim Phillips

He inherited this crap show from John Swofford
Also, in fairness Jim Phillips is getting paid like a BOSS to keep this gravy train from sinking by weak forest, nc sux, dook, Ginny Tech, looserville, Sear Accuse, that school Doug Flutie went to, and that nerd school that let Rudy sack their QB.
He probably knew he was a dead man walking when he took the job, and he’s just trying to milk the last drop

That man could drag out “ the kick is ….” For too long. About gave me a heart attack a time or two. I sure do miss him.

How about, “The pass is in…………….complete.” Or : “The pass is in………………..tercepted.” That’s the one that drove me batty.

Agree! Listening to the games on the radio could be very stressful at times.

I remember listening to "The Voice of The Tigers" Mr. Jim Phillips, man his voice was made to call Clemson's games especially "football"!!! AS a young man growing up in the sultry, humid Pee Dee Region of SC we all clamored around the nearest radio broadcasting Clemson Football and hearing that undeniable "Voice" calling games that was sent directly through the airwaves to all of us rooting our Tigers on to victory . He was and still is The Voice of Clemson in broadcasting circles. We are very thankful and grateful to have heard that Voice over the years! Bless all Jim's Family members especially his wife for allowing us to hear and be a part of this man's life over the years........he gave all of us who couldn't attend the games his very best in victory and defeat Thank You Jim for being our-TV back then.

His job is to babysit folks who can't keep their word...maybe he is not paid enough to put up with us and the savages...isn't it odd how many staunch Clemson fans are now hanging on every word from those worthless crableg stealing rapists from Tallahassee...kinda like Roosevelt supporting the Russian Communists in WW2, who invaded Poland?

He is part of the swamp, hand picked by John Swofford.

He is the dayum Commisioner of the ACC and couldn't answer the question why SMU becomes a member on July 1, 2024 and Cal/Stanford come on board August 2, 2024. He said I don't know!
Did he sleep through the meetings or even attend? Why wouldn't the "boss" ask or actually set the date? SMH

That was a crazy answer -- probably a contingency Stanford put to see if they get a better offer before climbing aboard a sinking ship.

Make something up, say something like, I think it aligns with their Fiscal year. He obviously can't think on his feet and as a Commisioner, he should not present himself as not being knowledgeable about his own conference.
He has done nothing to help this conference or stem the tide of negative perception.

Jim Phillips and the ACC are second tier and like the big12

never had been anything with anything
FSU carried it in the 90s when they should have been SEC
Clemson carried it the 2010s when they were playing 1/3 scheduled of SEC

When and if we get in the SEC you'll be itching cause we never win the conference and don't go to the dance cause a bunch of jerks got us to leave the ACC when we had a ticket every year! Be careful what you wish for...it's carma not carmel!

Perhaps so but Saturdays in the Fall will be a whole lot more intriguing playing an SEC schedule. And on the outside chance that the improbable happens -- like it has at Bama/LSU/Auburn/UGA/Florida -- and Clemson wins the SEC and then the CFP championship, it'll be all the more sweeter for the Tiger faithful.

Yeah nothing was saving the ACC. The ACC died when it invited bad football programs and the good ones it had outside of Clemson and FSU never did anything to garner attention. Miami and VTech falling off the map was the death of the ACC. Had they stayed where they were in the national landscape it is a whole different picture. But with those schools down along with FSU taking a dip from 2017-2020.. throw in bad management and a 20 year contract. Sheesh.

What has he done other than move ACC HQ to Charlotte and I suspect that's because he wanted to live in Charlotte over Greensboro.
