Did you ever see Hatcher punt?

I once saw him kick one from the east 20 yd line OVER THE GALL DANGED WEST EZ! (granted the Oculus wasn't there then).
Sirriusly, at the time, he and Ray Guy were the only punters to ever hit the gondola at the Superdome.)

he acquitted himself pretty well in the championship game, especially that first punt.
Nice way to wrap-up his punting career at Clemson.

Was my senior year. Road trips to Tulane, Kentucky, USuC and the Orange Bowl plus the ACC.
Good times.

Chase Brice was the guy that we relied on as the clock was winding down to zero almost EVERY game.

In all fairness you can’t really compare because the circumstances and styles were completely different. In all fairness to Lawrence, I don’t think a pocket passer would have had the same results back then. Woody Dantzler could run well and was a decent passer. He could read and expose a defense. He left so much on the field at the Orange Bowl that year that he needed an IV at half time. For his toughness alone he will alwAys be one of my favorite Tigers
