I'm really trying to understand

How is Oklahoma favored? I know they're a solid team but did everyone just forget they got OWNED by a losing Texas team? And beat Baylor and TCU with backup QBs? Am I just really biased or is anyone else not impressed with them at all?

My thoughts exactly. I often ask myself would Florida state have lost to anyone in the big 12?the answer is a consistent no. We beat a team that withouttheliss to ga tech would have been in the playof.

Absolutely. FSU would be undefeated. They have a little thing called defense and run game

Honestly not sure FSU could beat and injury free Baylor or a hot Okst. I just don't think FSU could put up 40 points if they needed to. But I get your point. By most metrics, us and Oklahoma seem to be almost identical but we are ahead a decent amount in defense and they are ahead a hair on offense. Add all that up and Clemson is the better team. Let's hope it shakes out that way. 8 days!!!

Totally disagree that they are any better than us on offense. The teams they play in the Big 12 are all offensive minded teams with very average defenses. Average defenses can make offenses look better than they really are.

I'm just speaking statistically. I agree the big12 defenses are uhh... Not exactly good. In any way.
Also 484, I hear that. I think they lose one (or more) of those games if Baylor, TCU, or OKST has their starter. I agree they beat three good teams but those teams were only good before they were injured. Source: their records.

Agree, but my point is they're being praised for beating a Baylor and TCU while they were injured. Not sure how it would play out healthy.

Let me ask you something ., You know Bookies shoot to get even bets on both teams ,., They don't care who wins they just want even money ,., So how many gamblers are going to bet on OU that we beat 40 -6 ., They have to entice people to bet .,
So they promote the game just like they did big boxing matches back in the day .,

Try to understand this. (I meant that with respect )
This is the 2nd playoffs, and the this orange bowl is a big deal. Alot of investors are looking for a huge showing.... They have to sell this up, even if that means taking a piece of coal, and selling you on its a diamond. O.U. game against Baylor was a piece of coal so they have to take what they are given, make it out to something great. Like I said.... they have jusy gotten on a roll, our whole season has been rolling!

That would make sense if virtually every ESPN reporter is also picking OU. It's not just Vegas dude

That is not true that virtually all of ESPN reporters are picking Oklahoma. Lots of them have picked Clemson and some of them even picked Clemson to win it all.

Let me put it this way.
Dec 24, 2015, 11:27 AM
|
|
A reasonable person would consider that a QB who was a Heisman candidate is the better QB. An undefeated team ranked #1 would be the better of two teams. A team with a loss has shown weakness in some areas.
ESPiN is a sales firm not a think tank. Salesmen accentuate the positives and ignore the negatives of their product. This game is their product and they are selling it hard.

Did read that somewhere. After that the line is adjusted to distribute beats evenly.
Makes no sense for Okie to be favored. There will be a lot of fools parted from their money.
