scholarship numbers come into play. It is quite possible that Flowe would not commit and when the staff secured Simpson, they told Flowe there was no longer a scholarship for him.

These are all kids...let Dabo get 3&4 stars with great attitudes and they will be all 5 star plus by their soph season...a famous philosopher once said "don't sweat the petty stuff & don't pet the sweaty stuff"... the Clemson coaching staff has done a good job of picking great ones and most of them didn't start out as a constellation, just small solar systems! Good coaching can make the difference..just look at Dumbo Fishnet at Texas A&M more five stars than the whole ACC and he still can't win even with 7.5m$/yr...ain't life grand!

I am not sure why so many on here freak out when another Tnetter posts what he heard on our flagship station’s morning show. He wasn’t advocating that Flowe is taking cash, or isn’t talented; he was just simply stating what he heard on the radio. I was listening this morning and heard the same comments. Some additional things Mickey said, which he admits are some speculation;
1) Flowe has strong west coast ties and extended family pressuring him to stay at home.
2) During Flowe’s On campus visit there was some player feedback that he may not be a good cultural fit with our program. Not a bad guy, but was described as brash.
3)Flowe wouldn’t pull the trigger on a commitment or give the staff a strong indication of a future commitment, even after BV went to the west coast for an in home visit.
4)On the other hand, Simpson wanted to be a tiger in the biggest way, even had his mom pay for a ticket to the ACC championship game which he attended decked out in Clemson attire; even without a formal offer on the table.
5)Simpson is a highly rated 5 star, with comparisons to Vic Beasley so the staff wasn’t settling on a much lower level recruit.
Mickey speculates that CU went with the player that really wanted to be here vs the one that was continuing to be non-committal. There were no knocks on Flowe’s talent level; as he obviously deserves the recruiting ranking he has. At the end of the day CU isn’t a good fit for everyone and the thought is the staff offered the next best guy we could get who was definitely All In.

You're not going to find it on Flowe's social media it was on a USC (our USC, the West Coast one) player's IG live stream. The player is Chris Steele, famous for being a USC commit that signed with Florida and enrolled there for spring ball, then his roomie was accused of bad things and Steele was able to transfer with no penalty. He signed FinAid papers at Oregon, then at the last second went to USC.
Anyway, he and Flowe were together at USC during Flowe's official visit. On the IG story Steele went to trash talk Clemson and Oregon with Flowe joining in. I'm not sure of all the details and who said what, but apparently it was all positive USC things. Oregon fans saw the live stream because some still follow Steele.
Before that we were getting pretty confident it was looking good for Oregon, but now we're thinking that the "USC family" that are friends of the program *paid* a visit  as they tend to do around this time of year.

Cut it with the "he was overrated" or "we really didn't want him" BS. Statements like that are absolutely ridiculous and frankly "cootish". Flowe is a generational LB coming out of HS. NFL scouts are already watching him. He's a big time difference maker and we'd be fortunate to have him on our team. So don't try to make yourself feel better if he decides to go another direction.

Just checked and I didn't see or hear anything like that. I still think we get him and there's just a lot of smoke being blown for Oregon. Either way they kid is a headhunter and may take a min to adjust to CBV still of defense, but he definitely isn't overrated.
