Agenda. . Espn has one. It is obvious. And that agenda is making money.

I don't mind the agenda. I dislike the lying. It is insulting.
I tell you now. The first politician who comes out to say his number one priority is to make money for herself Will be the end of us all. Pretty sure the first sign of the apocalypse is a politician telling the truth.

when they play each other in November in Utah. They can't both make the playoffs.

He's from Louisville (or at least used to write for their paper), so he tends to seek out narratives about Louisville. I do like his comment about a road win over Syracuse meaning something. It means LSU struggled to beat a team that won EXACTLY one home game last season (Villanova by one point). Maybe Syracuse is a lot better this season, but there is very little right now to suggest that.
The media didn't learn a thing from last season, and now they're actively pumping LSU and Ole Miss up the polls (like Ole Miss and Miss State last year). Watch A&M or some other SEC team get a win against one of those two, and then A&M will rocket up to a top 5 spot while the loser hangs around the top ten. Then A&M will lose badly, and still hang around the top ten. We saw it last year.
It doesn't mean a lot in the grand scheme with the CFP playoff, but the massively overhyped poll rankings got Miss State and Ole Miss to New Year's Day Six bowls when they didn't really deserve them.

Review the previous year's bowl games. ESPiN overrated the SECw and pushed those teams upward in the polls using the same rhetoric last year. It's all about conference income from the all the bowl games that the playoff committee seed.
Previously, the BCS bowls had contracts to invite SEC teams which spread the SEC all across the top bowls. When the Playoffs were negotiated no such contract existed. ESPiN having such a huge investment in the SEC was left to protect it's investment as best it could.
