Joe Ngata Eagles

I’m willing to be open-minded about Ngata, and any of your opinions as well about his future.

I personally think he couldn’t have gotten selected by a better team other than Kansas City. Ngata plays very similarly to AJ Brown, who is a star WR for them and one of the best in the league. Joe is going to get his chances. I promise in that offense, there is so much to focus on besides the undrafted rookie. He’ll be open.

He’s as good as everyone thought he would be, he just had a completely broken offense to play in. Same as Justyn Ross. By the way I actually can’t believe some thought DJ wasn’t the problem, and then some thought Streeter wasn’t the problem. They both were. And it sucks for guys like Justyn, Ladson, Ngata, Ajou, etc.

They were fantastic commits for us, and we didn’t come through for them.

You’ll see Justyn Ross again as well. Has been training extensively with Mahomes. Mahomes has highly praised Justyn recently about his abilities. I also think Amari Rogers will find a place like Ray Ray did in SF, and Amari will really catch on. Watch out for those Clemson WRs in the NFL.

I am too. It wasn’t really about that.

Although, it would be good for recruiting to see some more Clemson WRs succeed in the NFL. We don’t really have recruiting momentum in relevance to our WR play under Streeter the last couple years, but it would help to see some more of our guys produce in the NFL.

That some you speak of sure as H&11 wasn't me, I was absolutely sure DJ and Streeter was bad for our Tigers, and I got plenty of TDs for saying so!!!!

Thank you for clarifying.

It was a low minority of the Clemson population that thought DJ or Streeter were the right person. But I remember them. I guess I should’ve been more loyal, but that’s the double-edged sword with players. Do good, you get love. Do bad, you get hated. Not personally, just based on athletic performance.

We’re getting into the wrong discussion for this thread though.

I would put it 80% on DJ and 20% on streeter.

Streeter wasn't drastically different than what Scelliot my was.

Joe seems like a great young man and has his degree in hand. Unfortunately, he seems at best a practice squad player in the NFL. Being a big bodied receiver is about all he has in common with AJ Brown. I hope he proves me wrong.

I'm with you. Ngata has loads of potential he's not even close to his ceiling. I could see him becoming a guy they use on the boundary allowing Devonta Smith to be the slot guy. Quez Watkins won't be there much longer imo.

Hope the Eagles have plenty of athletic tape and wraps

Going to need them with Joe Not-Gata-Play trying to make the roster

If deon cain couldn’t make the eagles roster, what makes you think Ngata will? He was probably the biggest 5 star bust on offense we’ve had this century outside of Mike Bellamy

Mike Bellamy the biggest 5-star bust? Did we not just have the biggest 5-star bust QB who ruined every receiver’s development immediately? Prime example being Justyn Ross. Ross was on his way to a clear 1st round pick after that CFP in his freshman year. Insert DJ when Trevor leaves, and Justyn is the problem all of the sudden? DJ won a lot of games, but nothing changes the fact that he couldn’t pass worth a crap for most of his career.

Also, Bellamy was kicked off I think. He actually showed flashes when he played. Like his run vs VT (regular season) to seal it. But it was problems with his actions, not football performance.

This, exactly this.

I disagree with your premise of Clemson failed them.

May 2, 2023, 7:13 AM

Ngata simply had injury issues. Maybe they are now behind him. He showed flashes and it would not surprise me if he does well in pros. Also would not surprise me if he does not.
Ladson simply peaked in high school. His lack of performance after leaving Clemson confirms it.
Ajou - was developmental from his signing. He simply never developed into what the coaches hoped he would. It happens.
Justyn - I clearly would not throw him into anything other than successful. His horrible injury got in the way and he now appears ready to rock.

Sure DJU struggles hurt. I don’t get where people love to blame Streeter. I don’t see him as a problem, but I also don’t think he was creative enough to be a big part of the solution. To use what talent we had in a different way.

Sometimes, players simply don’t get better. In our case, injuries, QB struggles, and not developing past high school potential are what I think happened. If only one of those happens, it is not an issue. But combined, and at the same time, it became problematic.

I think this year will be pretty good. I also think, baring injuries and them getting back to full strength, we have some serious talent there. Now it becomes, how bad do they want it? Can our QBs be accurate enough and on time?

Time will tell.

Eagles will give him a legitimate shot - even carry him on developmental squad if need be to do!

You know it is funny but he never really learned how to properly catch the ball with his hands and placement....Never learned how to "######" the ball out of the air from defenders - ran great routes and was in right places but simply missed to many catchable passes thrown his way - Where was our coaching with him? Working along side A.J. Brown will help him immensely! Wait and see!

It's like you didn't watch any of the games where he didn't even try to block or got called for holding on a block.

and couldn't catch the ball reliably.

Yes, DJ's accuracy and timing was a problem but so was having receivers that dropped balls or couldn't find catchable balls.
