Tigers' uptick in recruiting

I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed and if it has, I must have missed it and apologize for a repeat.
My question surrounds the idea of could our current dramatic uptick in recruiting (which is awesome BTW) somehow be tied to all the speculation of conference expansion/realignment?
What I mean is I'm sure the true powers-that-be at Clemson, BOT, Pres. Clements, Dabo, Neff, etc, all have inside knowledge of what is likely to happen and what that timeframe looks like. Could it be that inside information (ie, wink and a nod) is being passed along to recruits who might want to play in conference X over conference Y and therefore now understand that we actually will BE IN conference X versus conference Y in the near future?
This has crossed my mind several times and I'm curious of others' thoughts.

before you could get a 17/18 year old kid to keep quiet about something like that!
And, we KNOW, it is a physical and mentally unbalanced impossibility for the Trumpeter to remain silent, even if he has the right to do so.

Nope. Dabo doesn't over promise and then have to de-recruit so I can't see him floating conference alignment. I don't think it would help anyway. Who wants to play in those other 2 trash leagues? I'm sure that he sells the program and the idea that Clemson is part of every conversation. Whatever happens Clemson will be fine. (Unless we go to the Big Ten, then that will be the dumbest thing ever)

Clemson has suffered more than most from Covid lockdown.

Dabo won’t make an offer until a guy has been on campus.
He’s adamant that once a guy is on campus, Clemson almost sells itself.
Covid inflicted two years of difficulty in getting guys to visit. Clemson was not able to sell itself from a distance.
Things are getting back to normal.

Our recruiting has picked up for three reasons IMO
Dabo sells family and culture. These things require the recruit to be on campus to understand the importance as it is not something that can be sold on a skype call.
Hiring Riley has been an infusion of energy plus told recruits that we are serious about being a top tier team. Riley has brought a certain cool factor to the program.
Some recruits are starting to see that selling themselves to the highest bidder (NIL) does not always work out as there are unintended consequences.

In person recruiting is why there has been an uptick. Clemson develops relationships 1:1 and with the Pandemic, they could not do that. Simple.

1. As others have said, campus visits are huge for the Clemson football program and Covid made those less available and more sterile when they did happen.
2. I don’t really see this as an uptick. This happens this time of year most years.

No, that's very likely not part of the equation. High Schoolers and their parents could never keep it secret; it's simply too juicy.
Although, it's reasonable to assume that if it comes up Dabo and Co assure them that when the dust settles Clemson will not be getting left out.
Our recruiting "uptick" is more like an annual event, or a correction. We recruit top 10 every year, so our current 24/7 ranking at #8 isn't out of the ordinary.
What you're witnessing is normal.

Yep Funny. In just a matter of a few weeks we have swapped places with the coots who have dropped to #16 after they were close to Top 5. Of course the coots thought Junior had conquered the college football world lol. Recruiting rankings are fluid and will remain that way based on what everyone else is doing until signing day. Does anyone really think that Bama will stay at #17?

I get why it might seem crazy/unusual if you just started paying attention.
Like you said, it's fluid. NIL has made it less predictable as some kids are primarily, and legally chasing $$$. The Coots being ranked so high coincides with a bumper crop of SC high school talent. It's a once every 10-15 year event. Clemson recruits Nationally, which is the reason we're able to consistently sign Top 10 classes.
You're right, Bama will definitely not remain #17...lol.
