Is this Seth Beer's ticket back to the show. The shift has been his kryptonite since his sophomore year at Clemson.

And the pitchers are on a clock. Fifteen seconds to throw the ball. That is going to be a problem for many.

20 seconds with men on base

The pitcher has to start the pitching motion before time is up. If not in time, it's a ball. And the batter has to be in the box 8 seconds in. Wonder how they're going to do this. Will the 1st or 3rd base ump have a timer? Will they blow a whistle? If a pitcher starts a pitch late and continues and the batter gets a hit, will it count and will play continue? Will be interesting to see how it works.

There will be a lot of tosses to first with a runner on even with no threat of a steal. That is when time is running out.

Can’t do that either. Max of two “disengagements from the rubber” which includes pickoff attempts.

There will be multiple clocks visible to everyone, just like a shot clock in basketball or a play clock in football. No buzzer…the ump will make judgement calls. I expect there to be a good bit of leeway, especially in the early stages of the rule being implemented.

Raise the mound back to15 inches and put the pitchers back in the batters box.

I had no idea MLB worked in shifts?

So you’re telling me there is a night shift where games are played throughout the night when I’m asleep? This is insane.

I'm disagree so strongly with the ban on the shift

A manager should be able to put all 9 of his players on the infield between 1st and 2nd if he wants to. If the batter is not able to take advantage ... then too bad.
Hitters need to get better.

Lou Boudreau rolls over in his grave! I remember when he implemented the shift to try and control Ted Williams.
It didn’t work! Ted was my boyhood hero.
Yes I’m old!

You don't happen to have his rookie card do you?

Might be worth a lot like the Mickey Mantle rookie card that sold for $12 million a couple weeks ago. Hank Aaron was my boyhood baseball hero.

They wanted the BB games to look more like baseball and not softball.
