SOMETHING change in college basketball to bring good low post play back into the game as an equal to outside shooting. The "short" college 3 point line has tilted the college game to a "live by the three, die by the three" mentality for the most part.
Gone are the days of your Abdul-Jabbars, Bill Waltons, or other great post players. Even in the NBA, center is a forgotten position, everything is big shooting forwards and shooting guards. The low post game brought some symmetry to things, which is now missing. It also took away some of the LONG scoring droughts that teams, notably OUR team, can get into when the three's are not falling.
The easiest change would be to back the college line up to NBA three point range. That would lower the percentages such that it would most likely bring back low post play, unless you think there are a passel more Stephen Curry's out there. Just my 0.02 worth.

Agree. The 3-point shot ruined basketball for me personally, especially in the NBA. Can't remember the last game I watched. Still love the college game but the reliance on the 3 drives me nuts.

Outlaw the 3 point shot and call traveling and you would get your wish but the game would be boring. The 3 gives every team a chance but if the game went back to a low post game, only the few teams that had the big guys could win.

unless it required stitches.
Michael Jordan has to sit at home these days and just sigh over how much he would dominate the NBA with the current rules and touch fouls.

College BB was similar. I fondly remember Larry Nance and Moose Campbell giving a skinny freshman Ralph Sampson a proper welcome to LJ by being very physical with him every trip up and down the court and especially when fighting for position.

Would like to see the three point line moved back to 24 feet. The players are stronger today and anything less than 24 is a bandaid.
