How are we gonna stack up to Auburn?

This is a pretty big game and Kevin Steele would love nothing more than to stick it to us. So, are we that much better? I'm concerned considering its game one on the road. Anything is possible. Auburn has solid running backs and a good d line. Will our d be prepared to stop the run? We gave up a ton of big plays last year. I said it would bite us eventually and it did in the championship game. Will we be stingier this year?

You'll ever be happy. I've challenged you on this before and you didn't answer me but im petty sure you've td'd me before and I just don't care. Would it have to be 50-0 every game to be a success? Is 14-1 a good year? I'd love to have won that game but for you to consider yourself prophetic Bc we lost one game is asinine. I think it was an outstanding year. To answer your question we stack up well. I don't know how well. I believe we win this game. Our offense will own steeles defense at some point. Not sure if early. It may be later in the game before the snowball starts to roll downhill. Defensively there are ?s. Hard to replace NFL talent year after year but our roster is stacked. But unfortunately a lot are young. However I think they get it done in auburn. Now for the second time. Are you a Clemson fan? Just come out and answer it. If you are then you're the kind that's only happy when we lose and I don't care for your kind. Go Tigers!

Busted coverages and specials teams cost us that game.I think it's safe to say regardless of the experience Brent Venables defense will always play tough and physical. I think this defense will settle in and be top 25.

I have seen alot of posts where people think we're going roll into Auburn and plow right over them. While that seems nice, I am not so sure.... Why? It's a brand new year, and there's always the unknown. From their stand point and Clemson. Not to mention the game is AT Auburn. I see Clemson winning, but... closer than the experts think.

I think we beat them handily . I think our decense is better than most people believe it should be and I know that DW4and the offense will want to make a statement . I feel good about saying we beat Auburn 34-17

Watched the Auburn Spring Game. They have Issues.
Posted it then, but they've got some good pieces at DL, mostly Mont Adams and Carl Lawson. They have some small, hard-to-find RB's that do that hide-and-pop thing at RB.
Other than that, they really don't got.
They don't have a QB who looks remotely effective. Sean White is a really, really average athlete and thrower. Jeremy Johnson looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane, after Jane has sniffed a tube or two of glue and is wandering around in circles really confused. John Franklin III looks like an uber-talented schoolyard QB who has no clue how to read a playbook, read a defense, or go through a progression. He hadn't even figured out what a mesh point was in the read-option this past Spring. Those who have seen Last Chance U can tell you why. That kind of willful ignorance tends to not work at the FBS level. Hey sports fans, cue the old Pink Floyd now: We don't need no education...
Their OL had some holes and wasn't moving even their second-team D off the ball. They had no playmakers at receiver, no space guys you used to see Malzahn scheme open with orbital motion and eye candy and just get the ball to for cheap yards. They lost their starting three LB's from last year and have replaced them with kind of a pot luck of Illinois transfers, JUCO transfers, young guys, and DE/OLB tweeners...were they recruited for a 3-4? Dunno. They've had 3 DC's in the last three years alone, I don't even think they have an idea what scheme they were supposed to be playing anymore.
They do have a placekicker who can tag it from 60+, so that's one thing. If they can get it to midfield, they have a chance for three. They get it to our 40, they probably do have three.
We probably have to worry about Fruhmorgen some against Carl Lawson; Fruh is still kind of green and when he's healthy, Lawson's a game-changer. Other than that, I suspect Auburn is going to have some matchup issues. In particular those new LB's in space are going to likely have some problems with all the fleet-footed targets who are going to be flashing around.

In watching film on Auburn, losing Cassovona Mckinley at linebacker is big. He seemed to be a very good playmaker for them. I wonder if they have anybody close to his skills.

I'd say u guys have no idea. Most of your answers revolve around making fun and talking jibberish. And yes we did have many big defensive breakdowns last year . It was concerning. And with all the changes, I'd say there will be more. A lot more. Hopefully the O will be good enough to overcome it.
Auburn may have been like 7-6 last year or something but it's still auburn. They have talent. And it's at their place. New year.
I'm not sure our db's are ready for this yet. And we don't know how mike williams will respond after his tragedy. Is Deion Cain prepared with his limitations while being punished?
Are we not kinda thin at linebacker? How do we look? Other than Ben....
Havnt seen as many coaching updates this season as in years past.

"And yes we did have many big defensive breakdowns last year . It was concerning. And with all the changes, I'd say there will be more. A lot more. Hopefully the O will be good enough to overcome it." Did you realize Auburn only returns 11 starters, second fewest in the SEC? But somehow they are reloading, while we are going to have "a lot more" breakdowns? Not to mention our coaching stability vs their D coordinator revolving door. And who is the flavor of the month, Kevin Steele. If I could have picked any d coordinator in the country to face, he would have been very high on the list.

similar teams and we play Auburn on the road.
I think we pull away in 3rd quarter, and win like 38-27. Auburn does covert some big plays but we out gain them 490 to 370 in total yards.

I'm guessing they will have all of their footballs players ready to play. Even the one`s that have been arrested recently.

Steele's philosophy isn't designed to stop the spread offense. His philosophy is similar to Smarts. Be big to stop the run...he actually had a very complicated scheme that at times his players have a hard time picking up graspig. you people worry too much..

At this point, the game is a toss-up. We look great on paper but paper means nothing on game day. Our Tigers will be under a lot more pressure because of the high expectations all the sporting "experts" have sent our way. We will see what the 2016 Clemson Tigers are made of real early this season. The game could be a launching pad for a great season or a demoralizing reality check. Remember---Malzahn's job is on the line this season so he will pull out all the tricks he can muster. Our ace in the hole---Dabo and his great staff. Fortunately, we don't have long to wait.

A toss up ? The spread is already nearly 10 to Clemson , and as the visitors that is almost a gimme . This game is nowhere near even , end of story .

easily made up for by an offense that will be a thing of beauty to behold this year. We have virtually the same offense as last year, but with a qb full steam ahead from the gates. I have a hard time believing any team out there this season will outscore us.
