I know some fairly serious money grubbing former medical colleagues.

Pity, I don’t know a single one who missed out on this payday.

This is a really stupid post.

Kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies are totally illegal.

Show me the data on criminal charges against the pharmaceutical companies and the doctors and then we’ll talk.

The internet is full of false information.

Where does it say pharma is giving kickbacks?

this is insurance companies giving our kickbacks, which is legal. It would seem they calculated that offering incentives to get 70% of their enrollees vaccinated would ultimately be cheaper than paying 11k per day to have someone in intensive care. Someone on a respirator for a month costs more than what they are offering doctors to prevent this from happening. But you found something nefarious, please explain???

so you are against public safety then Tom, or are you so bat shit crazy to believe that the vaccine somehow did more harm than good, when in 99.999% of patients it had no ill effects.

An insurance company giving incentives to doctors to give patients something that keeps them from getting seriously ill, which costs the insurance company money. You're a genius!

Would an insurance company have a financial incentive to vaccinate people? Would they make more money if there were fewer really expensive hospital bills from people having severe respiratory issues? Would they make more money if their customers didn't die and kept paying insurance premiums?

So...I did some digging - you know, that fact-checking stuff again - and "The Vigilant Fox" on Twitter/X/Rumble, etc. is an account associated with Vigilant News Network.

So who's that, you ask? Well, I didn't know either, so I starting googling. As seems to always be the case with sources our man Tom loves to link to, Vigilant News Network is very fly-by-night, and was founded in July 2023. Predictably, absolutely nothing about its ownership has been publicly disclosed and only one writer, Dallas Ludlum, has even been identified, but Ludlum's background, education, and professional experience are of course not listed.

Vigilant News Network is listed as a "Questionable Source" by MediaBiasFactCheck.com, citing content consisting of propaganda, conspiracy, and pseudoscience, as well as poor sourcing, false claims, lack of transparency, and multiple failed fact checks, and its Apple app has already had massive complaints about functional issues like the app not loading or playing content...which is impressive, considering Vigilant News is less than ten months old. About the best thing that can be said about this source is that I couldn't find any listings (yet!) that identified it as a disinformation site associated with a hostile foreign power, like ZeroHedge, which is of course a known cutout for the Russian FSB run by oligarchs' bankers that is based out of Bulgaria (You know, where the Real 'Murricuns actually live.)

So...yeah. Same old story with Tom.

even if this is true, There is nothing wrong here. Insurance companies give doctors kickbacks for referrals to other doctors and certain pharmacies to save the insurance company money every day, it is legal. If they are paying a doctor $15 to get one of their enrollees vaccinated, that is a small price compared to what it would potentially cost if they ended up in intesnive, so plausible.

Where doctors get into trouble is a financial incentive for ordering unnecessary tests from the Hospital chain they work for(See Rick Scott), or unnecessarily prescribing medications to get kickbacks from pharma.

Everything that is implicated here is not morally or ethically questionable unless it is strictly forbidden under law, and even then, itwould have been in the interest of public safety.

this is nothing burger on many levels, but I guess it got Tom out of bed.

It's actually an indicator that Anthem is doing something good if true.

I have no idea if Anthem did this. But if they did, that's a good thing.

It is how the health care system is run in Europe, I know, eyes rolling, but doctors get a base salary, and bonus incentives for results, not treating symptoms with medications as what is financially incentivized by the US health care system. If I told Tom that Merck was kicking back $15 every time a doctor prescribed a patient ivermectin for Covid, he would have no issue with this. He is an anti-vaxxer, convinced that it will somehow harm us, yet here we are, healthy and alive.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

when you are the boy that cried wolf 200x, people are hesitant to believe you, and I just said it was plausible, because if you're going to invent a conspiracy, at least go for broke instead of the insurance companies looking out for their bottom lines.
