My sister-in-law Kate is in a very bad way. She's nearing the end of her 3rd & final bout with cancer. It's terminal. They've given her (at the very best) 6 months, but it's not going to be that long. More like 1 - maybe 2 months. She has said "No more" to further treatments or surgeries. One of those cases where it starts one place - they seem to get rid of it. A year or so later - it pops up somewhere else & again, they seem to treat it successfully. Now about 2 or 3 years after bout #2 - the stuff is everywhere & nothing can be done.
I've known Kate for 45 years. Forget the "sister-in-law" thing - she IS my true sister. I only had brothers growing up. I don't think I've ever known another person whose life has touched so many in positive ways. I've never heard of her refusing to help anyone. Her life has been one of genuine service to others: time, money, listening, counseling if asked, daily prayer for dozens/hundreds. Her ability to positively lift people & give them help & hope...I've seen her in this role from the day I met her.
Now, SHE is in great pain. Terrible pain because cancer is hard. We talk to her a few times every day & she is truly struggling. Can't talk but a few short minutes each time, because end-stage cancer totally dominates a person & is awful.
We'd love to have this wonderful woman around many more years, but the Lord must have other plans. We would rather He go ahead & end her suffering if that's His Will. Please pray for this amazing servant who has shown real love & compassion to so many during her exemplary life.
Our entire family sincerely thanks you.

Done. Sorry you are all facing this. It is never easy and we just hate to see those we love suffer like this. I pray all of you get strength and comfort you need during this difficult time. I really wish I had some better words

Cancer is a terrible thing - particularly when it overcomes a person and all attempts to defeat it. It is a killer of hope and leaves a wide swath of despair in its wake. My prayers go out to her and all of her family and friends.
