If you believe Alabama isn't a top 4 team,

If you believe Alabama isn't a top 4 team, you should be glad the committee thinks they are a top 4 team, because they are an easier opponent if we can finish out and end up in the playoffs.
If you believe Alabama is a top 4 team, then they are where they need to be.
Complaining about Alabama being in the top four doesn't make much sense to me, unless you think Clemson is less likely to beat them than another worthy team, and are just complaining because playing them scares you.
I don't know about you guys, but I think Clemson has the capability of beating anyone in the country, and want the best. I think Bama, as much as I hate them, is playing like a top 4 team right now.

to make the SEC "NFL-Lite" year after year.
Big picture it affects non-SEC schools recruiting, so if you are in favor of Bama being in the Top4, then you're anti-Clemson.

"so if you are in favor of Bama being in the Top4, then you're anti-Clemson."
Mutually exclusive?
I think Alabama is a top 4 team and I'm a huge tiger fan and alum (4th generation).

I will say football ignorant. Bama has a one dimensional offense and can't play catchup. That's always been PJ @ GT's problem. Get a head start and they freak.

Generally, it doesn't matter...

When I surf by the ESPN NCAAF Homepage and the top 4 articles are all about SEC teams (like yesterday), they're not talking about Clemson anyway so why even visit them.
But it does matter here: "“It feels great to have an offer from the number one team in the country."
Exposure and status are the lifeblood of the program. Like Barry Switzer said in the 80's "The best athletes on the planet don't just drop out of the sky and land in Norman. We go and get them."
And getting them is easier if they know and are familiar with our brand, and the media helps, rather than hinders us.

right where they are. They play to our strengths: Can't stop a spread, and they run between the tackles.
Beat of all, it would be like beating the coots 3 times.
1)In Wilma Bruce (Capons) - On the field 2)In the Playoffs (Bama..who the Capons worship) - On the field 3)In their heads - The psychological ramifications for the coot fan base after we beat SECBama would be 2nd only to the trophy ceremony and Dabo's speech.

Maybe the OP is looking at this differently than most.
If ANY OTHER TEAM IN AMERICA other than Bama had a loss at HOME to a team that has lost 3 games, then there is no way on the planet that any other team would be allowed to even be mentioned in the playoff list. THAT is what ticks me off. Yeah - Bama might possibly be the BEST team in the world, but they lost the right to be in the playoff by "Alabamaing". You can't get away with that. PERIOD. THAT is wrong on so many levels.
Houston might be the best team in America, but they aren't mentioned because teams like BAMA are given preferential treatment and everyone looks the other way when they lose.
IMO - we should have play-in games if we have at least 4 undefeated teams. Teams with only ONE loss would be allowed to play the #4 team (kind of like BBall tourney). If they can beat the #4 team, then they are granted the RIGHT to play the #1 team in the playoff.

I don't know why so many Clemson fans are arguing so vociferously the opposite. Because the "metrics" tell them so? For 100 years the championship of college football was crowned to the last undefeated team standing. When this failed to happen there would much bellowing about who the winner should be and often multiple teams crowned. But it always came down to who lost the least games. Now we finally have a little miniature tournament to declare a champion. But instead of following the time honored system of valuing wins and losses above all else (Power 5 level only - get out of here with your Houston, BoIse State nonsense) there is a certain faction that wants to embrace a Byzantine evaluation system that elevates the same old names no matter what. If you are a fan of college football you should not want old warhorses like Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame to get the free passes. They are the least deserving.

Agree with the point, but not the specifics. Ohio State got similar favoritism in this regard last year. I think if ND had lost to a lesser home opponent (e.g. GT) and beaten us, they would get the same love. The clear message is good wins matter way more than losses.
My real argument is with those talking heads who state as fact the the Tigers must win out to be in. Suppose we were to lose to USC (heaven forbid) and won ACCCG. Our resume would still be superior to Alabama and ND, especially if FSU beats UF.
