It won’t get a lot of fanfare, but this is a really solid EKU team. They won’t be an easy out for many people.
I like how our team is coming together. We have veterans in Chase and Ian, budding stars like Wiggins, and experienced transfers such as Zackery and Lakhin. This is a nice mix of talent and veteran leadership. We can be really good.

Hasn't been mentioned much but I think before the season ends, you'll hear Myles Foster's name mentioned. He's solid, big body that has a nose for the ball. Quick hands and anticipates passing lanes well. If he can improve his ft shooting, he may earn more minutes. Don't think we'll need him to score. But he can come off the bench and guve cheff and others a breather. Especially valuable on defense.
He's my sleeper player of the season.

First full game I've watched this season. First two were condensed YouTube versions.
Observations:
Not on the same level as last year's team (yet)
Team gives five guys considerable minutes that weren't on the team last year, two of which that start. Although expected, the cohesiveness is lacking but not painfully obvious.
Team will miss PJ Hall.
While there were criticisms about how much Hall played outside last year, the team's interior presence won't be the same. Lahkin is a welcome and appreciated addition but he plays below the rim and it's hard to follow up an act such as Hall.
Impressed with Del Jones.
You can just tell he's the future. One thing I noticed is that Brownell let him play through some mistake prone and bad shot minutes. Most years, Brownell is quick to yank younger players but I think Coach knows and has confidence in this guy. Granted, he got more minutes with Dillon out but still, this guy has plenty of positive attributes.
👨🍳 is as likable as ever. Such of an overachiever. You can tell he means so much to this team. Whe he went down in the first half, the entire bench cleared out of concern.
Heidbreder will gradually steal minutes and work his way into the rotation. His shooting ability is too much to ignore and he has some ability to create off the dribble.
Finally, Chase Hunter. This is his year. His team.
I've always felt the main thing missing from his game was confidence. Last year's NCAA Tournament run gave him that for this year. There's going to be plenty of highlights. I hope we all enjoy it. His athleticism should especially be appreciated.

I see your point. It's going to take awhile for this team to jell fully. But the fact they trailed halfway through the 2nd half and responded fully and took over late against a team that would upset teams who couldn't respond is a positive.
