If we are bummed because the SEC just wasn't meant to be

due to the fact that they already have a team in the state of SC, just think how bummed the SEC must be.
Due to timing and South Carolina being available in 1991, instead of Clemson they have S. Carolina. Now think about that.
Instead of the team that leads the series 65-40-4, they get the other team. Instead of the team that has won 10 of the last 15 and leads by even more since SC joined the SEC, they get the other team.
Instead of a team with 18 conference championships, 1 national championship and 2 division titles, they get a team with one HUGE stadium sign that says 1969 ACC Champs.
Instead of the setting of Clemson's campus, they get the SEC's first and only off-campus stadium and off-campus basketball arena.
Instead of the university town and campus of Clemson which is two hours closer to every SEC school, they get a visit to a warehouse district two hours further away.
And they have a school that is now on THREE YEARS PROBATION for cheating. It garnered one division title and they parlayed that into the worst SEC championship game of all time, yes worse margin than the Orange Bowl and they followed that with a bowl game loss to the ACC.
The SEC doesn't need us due to the goals of modern day expansion and they already have South Carolina. Think how bummed they must be about that.

I'm sure they are bummed that they have a school that has won the last 2 Nat'l titles in baseball, a New Years day bowl this past season. I'm sure the SEC office sits up and says they can't believe they have to settle for Spurrier when they could have had Swinney!! Or the team that gave up 70 in a bowl game, yep, that's the ticket, they are bummed.

Mickey D's bragging about how y'all had the best year in the history of your program this past year. The customer quickly asked "oh did y'all win the SEC championship or your division?"
Mr. Coot replied reluctantly "no...we came in 5th". The customer busted out laughing as the coot scurried to go get his fries.
I had my Clemson hat on and started laughing to myself; the customer heard me, turned around and said "Go Tigers!"

The difference between Clemson and SC right now, is that we measure ourselves against the Nation, Clemson measures against their division/conference. You act like winning your division is more important than finishing as a Top ten BCS team. It's not. Alabama proved that winning your division or conference isn't all that important, and that'll be more true when the playoffs come.
Conference championships aren't that important anymore, where you finish in the BCS rankings is what matters.

99% of recruiting rankings are national.....that is, how teams rank compared to the other 119 FBS football teams. If winning the conference was most important, clemson would be staying in a weakened ACC and win conference championships. The truth is that what actually matters is how you rank against all your 119 fellow FBS schools.

You guys are a riot!! If it makes you feel better to keep saying that then keep on keeping on.
Why not Ga Tech?? They have won more ACC titles in last 20 years than Clemson, they have won a Nat'l championship some 10+ years after you won yours, and they have won in baseball and basketball. They have won an ACC championship in basketball, you haven't.
Wake has won as many ACC titles as Clemson since the ACC expanded and they didn't give up 70 in a bowl game the year they did!! Maryland has won as many as Clemson since expansion.
Again, why would they want a team that brings nothing to the table in basketball, your baseball is probably your best sport and how is that tracking for you? Football, you won a Nat'l title over 30 years ago and 1 conference title in 20 years. You are not special, you have great attendance to football but so does USC. USC has a larger student body which means more alumni which means a larger fan base. USC has the premier baseball program in the country, as bad as we suck in basketball we still beat you, we have a high profile coach in football, failities that are only continuing to improve and you think you offer what to the SEC that USC can't??

Again, overwhelmingly majority, really, and how many have you spoken with??
I will tell you this, keep telling yourselves that and maybe you'll feel better because whether you make it to the Big 12 or stay in the ACC you'll still be in an inferior conference.
The majority of ACC fans I know would much rather have had USC stay and you guys leave, and that is an overwhelming majority. Can I prove that, no, but it still sounds no dumber than the comments you guys are making.
SEC does not want you, you bring nothing new to the table and that is what expansion is all about, nothing else.
I will give you this, after watching your performance in the Orange Bowl I would think alot of members would rather have you in the conference, helps pad offensive stats when playing such an inept defense.

When are you moron chicken fans gonna realize that USuCk has nothing to do with the strength of the SEC? Why you brag so much about what conference you're in blows my mind. Bama, LSU, Florida, UGA, those are the real SEC schools and the reason the SEC is what it is. You have absolutely nothing to do with the SEC's dominance. You are the SEC's doormat and Clemson's doormat. A couple decent seasons doesn't change that.

The South Carolina football program is one of the worst major programs in the history of college football. Nobody give's a rat's ### about USuC. Clemson, on the other, hand, is a traditional top tier program, known coast to coast.

LSU, UK & Vandy fans all prefer Clemson over SCAR.
Every single one of them would trade Clemson for SCAR. That even includes my UGA friends who used to HATE Clemson back in the 80s but still respected the Tigers.

The stretch of time between getting owned by Alabama in 08 to the Orange Bowl record setting embarrassment has convinced most of the country that Clemson is schizo.
SCAR has a bad reputation too, and it is worse than ours... but lets not forget our recent resume.

The Gamecocks, I dont believe Clemson has any sort of brand recognition throughout the country other than alum and the south east. And others who may actually know the Clemson "Brand" know it as the team that looks good for a few weeks then falls. "pulling a Clemson" is a nationally recognized phrase.
