But Why, even though he has said on more than one occasion that he makes plenty of money at Clemson, maybe he bought something that may stress his finances, and would like a raise, but don't want to ask for it, but with his name being thrown around could get him a raise....

It actually helps his value on the market, why would he reduce it. Later it might mean him getting paid more at a great job when he’s ready to move to head coach.

My guess is OU is still trying to get their crap in one bag and defining the offer, what their next coach should be and figuring out who the candidates are. And even though he is very happy at Clemson no way he shuts this down. There’s just too much knowledge to be obtained going through the process.
