SEC Network just reported that. aTm AD was asked about it. "We want to be the only team from Texas in the SEC."

Who cares if they join the SEC, it just takes both schools & puts them under Alabama?
It will only drop Georgia down the list more.

Why would they want to join the SEC? Do they think under the expanded teams National Championship playoffs that the SEC is going to get 4 teams in the playoffs? And their chances of getting in will be enhanced?

and the ACC and PAC. BIg12 will likley end. There Will be 4 conferences so yeah... will be likely to get 3/4 teams out of 1 conference.

BTW, I think this move by OU ant TX is just the minor tremblings of the next round of conference and even NCAA realignment.

We talked years ago about there eventually being just 4 super conferences. If you are Texas and Oklahoma, why not go to the most powerful conference in the NCAA? Might just be the beginning of this ultimate realignment.

why would they want to leave such and enviable position and play second fiddle to Bama.
Texas has the Longhorn Network while OU has Fox Sports Oklahoma and they currently do not share any of the substantia revenue with the Big XII but still share equally in all of the conference revenue. Not sure the SEC would agree to that deal.
Besides, A&M would N E V E R vote to approve the addition of Texas to the SEC.

They fund the entire Big 12. If they take those dollars to the SEC, both they and the SEC benefit. The Big 12 would die.
