If saban retired this year, would dabo go to

Alabama if offered? I say no. I dont see enough good reasons for him to go. He has it made im Clemson and its his baby.
The only thing that concerns me about dabo, and im a big fan, is he has made a couple comments indicating that if he was unhappy he would go. But i think he seems fairly happy to me.
I just cant see any scenario where leaving would be worth it right now. He has a great job here. I say he retires here.

I believe that both Dabo and Brent have said they have a commitment to not only Clemson but their sons. Dabo has said this is all his sons know. Brent has said repeatedly that he’s found a home that checks all the boxes. He also said he has “sold” this dream to both of his sons and what kind of example would that be to cut and run. I truly believe these men of integrity are very happy at Clemson more importantly, they’re Home!

I don't know Dabo at all, but his entire family lives in Clemson. He's been here for what, 16-17 years? He has two sons on the football team.
All I've heard him say is "you never know," meaning that it's conceivable that some day Clemson folks might hate him (his words). At that point he'd have to leave (whatever "leaving" might mean).
And anyway, who'd want to follow a man whose statue is already standing in Tuscaloosa?

The only way Dabo goes to Alabama is

to either visit friends, or accept an award. Do not trivialize the fact that he was once on a coaching staff that was fired from Alabama when his friend and mentor, Gene Stallings, was forced to resign. That, coupled with his love of Clemson, leads me to believe that he would never leave here to coach at Alabama.

I think only 2 things get Dabo out of Clemson

Both start with "P" and neither is "Pachyderms".
The two are the Pulpit and Politics. I can see Dabo moving on from coaching to do some sort of full time outreach work with a church. And I could see him entering politics as well. He'd do fantastic work in either arena I think.
I would have added a 3rd P - "Pros" - but I don't get the idea that he's interested in coaching in the NFL.

I don't doubt that he would walk away if he was unhappy. He is having a ball, and he is the type of person that, despite saying "the fun is in the winning," is going to have fun even if we were mediocre. He sees the best in people and in the situation. I don't think that he questions if he can repeat his success somewhere else so I don't think it is a temptation to try. I think that he would rather see to what extent that he can achieve it here which is likely to be historic. I am not sure when we will need to stop saying "the best is yet to come," but I am pretty sure that is not yet.
