With other big time offers it would be hard for me to come to Clemson these days. Same as with WRs, with the offensive production and berating from fans that’s a tough gig. If Dabo doesn’t do something soon we are gonna suffer for a while.

If I'm an athlete at any position who has NFL aspirations, I want to go somewhere that is going to develop me into becoming the best that I can be. With Scott and BV, we had 2 award winning coordinators and that attracted top talent with dreams of the NFL.
They don't see that from us now, or maybe not until Riley starts delivering. I think there will be a point where Dabo, like he did with Riley, will have to go out and hire proven, well known coordinators and staff, with some NFL experience in their backgrounds, to raise our coaching level to meet the standard we expect from the talent we are trying to attract.

Two years ago when he hired Streeter and Goodwin. Heck, we've been at that point since he won the first NC.

Riley is fine, but Riley should be allowed to go out and hire is own position coaches if we’re going to run his scheme.

In your opinion, what does Dabo need to do?

I honestly have no clue not one to say “the portal will fix everything” the main problem I see is lack of fire from everyone besides Shipley. Especially on defense guys play with a sense of entitlement from past Clemson success. In other words we all seem soft as charmin and scared most of the time.

I agree 100% when it comes to the defensive soft and entitled nature. I personally believe that is a reflection of Goodwin. There isn't that edge to the defense since BV left. Teams take on the personality of the coach. If I'm down on either side of the ball from the last year or so its the defense. They have talent and aren't playing to the standard of years past. The offense just needs an influx of talent, mainly WR. Maybe its a lack of development but you cant coach speed. You cant coach fight in a player to go after a ball in the air. With no threat on the outside its hard to move the ball when your playing inside of a 10 yard box it feels like. I think the fire will come with confidence on the offensive side of the ball. Monday didnt help but its a long season.

I have serious concerns about Wesco and Moore sticking with their commitments, especially Wesco. Texas & OU are going to be all over him. We don't have a receiver with the athletic ability that either of these two possess.

Guess why we have had challenges recruiting a QB for the 2024 class?
It’s because we have two highly regarded young QBs on the roster.
G.Riley is an attractive coach for QB prospects (and also for WR prospects).
Clemson offers two tremendous recruiting factors as of this moment for both WRs and QBs:
Clemson is a power program with widespread notoriety for winning big. Even during two ‘off years’ in 2031 and 2022, we won 10 and 11 games, respectively.
Our QB room doesn’t look as good now as it did during preseason hype. Vizzina didn’t beat out Klubnik; Klubnik clearly needs to develop a lot more before he becomes a winning QB. This gives a QB prospect the optimism that he will play early if he comes to Clemson.
Our WR room … let’s face it … looks weak. Our OL is now blocking well, and our RBs put pressure on opposing defenses to keep DBs in the box, which in turn makes it more likely that our WRs will face 1 on 1 coverage. There is big opportunity for WRs to be highly successful.
Finally, good WR recruits begets good QB recruits, and vice versa. The key is to keep our two super stud WRs in the fold, and hope like mad that Tyler Brown becomes the deep threat that we so desperately need to open up the middle of the field for our numerous possession receivers.

I definitely agree on the desire for early playing time, we continually hear this with recruits these days, no one wants to wait their turn. No doubt we will have starter minutes available. However, these kids also want to be developed so they can make it to "the league." We don't have much to offer in this regard recently while you see OSU, Bama, LSU stacking elite WR talent because of track record.
